My car eats fuel pumps.

I'm on my third pump in less than a year. The 040 went out after I replaced the factory pump and cleaned out the tank. Bought a 070 from DMNDSTAR87 (whom I might add was a pleasure doing business with), that worked forever but just started groaning today. I'm about to have to buy a daily driver because my car keeps having fuel gremlins. I'm guessing my tank is just wearing away, because I cleared the fuel bowl's inlet tube, I cleaned the tank out, and replaced it with that 070, but like I said,

easily modded intake manifolds

i saw a 03 galant in the junk yard yesterday and it had a steel intake on it. looked like it might be easily modded to fit a sq. first off i hear metal intakes are bad. has anyone made and tried one? maybe if it'll work on a stock galant it should be fine on any other car. i know people would be worried about it being a heat sink. thoughts on steel intake manifolds... also has anyone used and modded some manifold other than building your own and a magna?some tig welding. im talking about mod
