I used to drive my previous Conquests everyday until I bought a trailer queen about 10 years ago.Since then I drive it pretty hard on nice days in the summer and take it to the occasional car show but mostly it sits in the garage under a car cover.I've let my interest drift to my 93 Audi S4 this year but now that it's all sorted out next spring I'm finally going to introduce the Quest to the track.I don't think she needs anything but the track will let me know real quick.Boogity, boogity, boogity, let's go racing boys!

I DO hate on those parting out good non-rusted cars but there is also a rational part of me that understands reality and common sense.What's a person supposed to do if they try to sell a running car and get BS offers or they part it and make several hundred dollars more than they could selling it whole? Most bought the car without having a clue what they were getting into. It's fine for some of us to say just hold onto it but a lot of Quest owners are young or just plain don't have the funds to properly correct the issues.If they do have the cash most get frustrated and turn to a newer model car where after market parts and support are easily accessible. This is where were at - these cars are currently a poor financial investment period.Most cars over time will get parted,crushed or crashed but for those of us who truly have some kind of twisted fascination for these cars the spending of copious amounts of crinkly Ben Franklin's will continue.The more you crush - the more you part - the more special and rare you make my car.Silver lining,cup half full,label it as you will.I can't control what happens so I may as well try to be positive.

Don't read to much into your purchase.Your obviously not into HDTV's that much.You could spend days trying to find the "best" TV out there.As always it comes down to How often you watch it,what your going to use it for and how much you have to spend.I'm thinking you need a "bang for the buck" TV.IMO LCD is the only way to go - replacing bulbs/investing in a technology that is fading away isn't your best choice.To me the picture is important but not as important as picture size.If you buy a 40" 1080p 240hz for $800 or a 50" 720p at 60hz for $800.You'll be much happier with the bigger TV.For those of use who use a blue ray player,PS3,Xbox etc frequently the extra cost is worth it,for you who doesn't even have an HD signal yet I would say it's not. You may not get the best picture out there for that kind of money but with a 50" 720p @60hz and a high def signal you will be very pleased.A high end TV is certainly not worth 3 times the price of a low end set. Compared to what you have now the difference would be night and day regardless if it's a high end TV or not.I say get a 46" or 50" for 500-750 bucks for now and if you really get into HD movies,gaming and Blue ray, do your research and spend the big money on a better set down the road. Just figure out how much you have to spend - keep looking at websites like - http://www.techbargains.com - http://passwird.com Today they had this listing Sony BRAVIA KDL-46EX400 46" LCD HDTV for $743.00 Free Shipping from Crutchfield.It's not the newest model for sure but in your case it's fine. You can find a Dynex 46" set for 500 bucks at Bestbuy but you can go to cheap.

First in my mind to make a change there needs to be a problem.This website is for "everyone" so it needs to kept clean and non offensive.The question concerning the "active mods" has no merit as long as the site is not suffering ..and it's not.There are always going to be fires that need putting out because people can't or refuse to moderate themselves but that in my mind is always done quickly,fairly and efficiently.If success is any indicator of a website that is being run correctly than this website has proven itself over the years.Many people and websites have come and gone but this one has always been the best source for info and a "family" atmosphere.What I would suggest at the most is a "suggestion box" so the mods can decide if the new idea has merit or not...Oh wait there already is a "site wish list" section Basically this whole thread is much ado about nothing.

My run in with flying squirrels didn't turn out as well.Outdoor party this summer,at approx 10pm I go searching for more wood for the bonfire.I knocked down a 6ft standing piece of deadwood - brought it back tossed it on the fire. Yup, it had a family of flying squirrels in the top of the log.With the music and all I couldn't figure what those weird noises were.I managed to save 3 but 2 were burned up and we had to put them down.The girls started crying etc..Suffice to say not a good time 4 anyone.Glad this one had a happy ending.

Sorry but that call was the only way it could have been done.To give Miami the ball when Doug Legursky was clearly in there with a shot at the ball would not have been right.They refs did the right thing considering they had already blew the play dead.What they should have done was establish possesion of the ball then made the call on the fumble or touchdown.Since that didn't happen the refs chose the only option they had.After the Steelers kicked the field goal Miami still had the ball with plenty of time to score...they just went 4 and out.Steelers dominated the first half.Maimi got 1/2 of it's points from Steelers turnovers..in the end the better team won.

That's so true - I've seen that happen with CT state jobs.You can't be in management without at least a bachelor's degree.The scenario is that management brings in a new college grad to replace the guy who's been there "managing" without the title or pay for 20+ years.They need to dump him before he collects the big retirement check.They pay the college grad twice what they pay the "non educated" person.Then the old employee has to train the new person.As soon as training is done - they lay off or transfer them.It's really sad that nothing is based on work performance anymore.The college degree is the new glass ceiling.College is somewhat of a brain washing money grab if you ask me but if you want into the corp world - you have to play the game. The great thing about a degree is that no one can take it away from you.It is an accomplishment and it will open doors for you.Hang in there, you'll be glad you did. Plus once you have a degree - should you change your career path it's only a couple of years to a different degree.

Yeah - it's not for me - the radio in the Quest never gets turned on.Between the 3" exhaust,whine of the turbo and the RFL BOV I have plenty of sound.The Sound Racer doesn't work in my Audi S4 either so I have no use for it.I'm just doing some Christmas shopping early and wanted something with more than just one sound.Any idea what the alternatives are called or where i can find them?

Anyone have one of these? I remember a similar device where you could dial in several different engine noises like a v-8 or Ferrari v12 but I can't locate anything on the internet but the Sound Racer v8 or v10.

If you know your subject matter no one can talk BS to you.I'll just talk them into a corner and when they try to dispute what I'm telling them I just Google it on my cell phone and prove them wrong.They always come up with a...No I didn't mean it that way....or I was just.....what ever just stfu already.Nothing wrong with exposing an idiot in front of their peers,very satisfying.

My friend is looking to buy a luxury sports car - has approx 15k to spend. Wants to get 2004 or newer He's looking at a 2007 Volvo s60r with 98k on it. I told him not bad but I think there is better out there but I don't buy newer cars and I haven't been keeping up, any ideas?

My Conquest sticks like glue until you go over the limit.Once adhesion is lost the car is out of control period, it snaps around so fast it literally makes your head spin.Now you can break the back end loose with the throttle and drift around the corner but if you are just going for speed and push to hard my car always looses the back end first.I've almost never felt the car push into a corner but it's only been street driven so I only push so hard.

WRC World Rally 2010 is looking to be an exiting year.After a one point victory for Sebastian Lobe over Mikko Hirvone last year and with the addition of Kimi Raikkonen and Ken Block to the drivers lineup this year, it should make for some entertaining racing.Kudos to Kimi for giving up his multi million dollar paycheck in F1 to put his a** and reputation on the line tackling such a difficult task.I think driving a rally car is by far the most difficult type of car racing there is.I just wish they had more factory teams, How awesome would it be to see Citroen,Ford,Mitsubishi,Subaru,Peugeot and Škoda all have 2010 rally cars.

Eggzactly...Well said. In general they rarely put things on at the factory that are not needed.Things cost money so if it's not needed it's generally penny pinched off the car.

The 3d effects were very cool but like DryBear posted above it's a cookie cutter script.You know where the movie is going and how it's going to end.He learns the way of the tribe,the language,bangs the chiefs daughter,conquers the uber lizard that only there greatest hero has accomplished,gains the respect of all the people that wanted him dead,and ends up as there greatest hero.This supposedly all takes place in 90 days? Gimme a break.Beautiful movie but it's no LOTR.

I see it this way: I never ride in the left lane if the right lane is open.I always thought that passing on the right was if not illegal at least frowned upon.If I am in the left lane and someone pulls up behind me regardless of my speed I pull to the right as soon as I can.If the right lane is not open then the guy behind should realize that he's going no where fast and back off. I'll let him know with a signal light that I'm trying to move over when it's safe to do so.If he doesn't get the hint and tailgates or keeps flashing his lights he gets a flash of the brakes lights first, the brakes and a hand gesture second, and my foot in his a** third.I absolutely hate tailgaters - put me in danger?! I think not. Don't get me wrong I'm not out there to police other people,that really pisses me off.I feel that's one of the main reasons for angry drivers. They have the "He shouldn't be doing that, what a dumb #%$#!" attitude which leads them trying to influence how another person drives.Just let them go...even if your already going 100mph - it could be an emergency - you never know.Again just let them go it's so easy to do.Problem solved For example - I'll pass someone going 5 mph under the speed limit on a 2 lane road and get the finger and the horn.You should be glad I'm not behind you any more - why get pissed? If you feel it's a race or a competition step on the gas...if not STFU! For the most part it's simple common courtesy, not rocket science.

The only ones I know of are the Stedebani mounts. There were 2 variations - The red and the black. Red are reportedly to hard at 95 durometer and will vibrate your teeth out. and the Black one's at 85 durometer. Preach on brutha Tim. People have to stand up for themselves and stop being doormats. Even if you have nothing to hide - that's not the point. Cops are not allowed to harass,intimidate or search whenever they feel like it.For every person that makes it easy for them they probably search 2 more people without probable cause.If they had to deploy 5 cops and a dog every time because people refused to give consent we would see searches happen a lot less often. The only reason they searched Justpaus is because he had a LEGAL firearm (that he told them about immediately) and he may have matched a particular "profile". In either case what probable cause did they have to search the vehicle? Absolutely none. He had a license plate light out so they searched his car - ridiculous! The more you cower before authority the harder the boot heel presses on your throat. This may be over dramatizing but to me it's a part of a bigger picture.We have rights that countless thousands of brave men and women died and are still dying for - I won't dishonor there sacrifice and just give my rights away.
