Road race/drift LS1 swap

i was just thinking about ackerman angle recently. road race and drift would require totally different types of ackerman. since drifting you have the wheels turned counter to the angle of the car through the corner, you would almost zero ackerman or even anti-ackerman to allow you to drift/steer through a corner . \

does that make sense?

try making a chassis drawing of you car sideways through a turn with your wheels at full lock and you'll see that the outside wheel will be taking WAY to large of a radius. basically the outside tire will just be scrubbing the whole time if the inside tire follows the proper racing line through the apex.

No, not really. Basically when your sideways at opposite lock, your inner tire will be scrubbing. Your weight is transfered more to outside wheel allowing the inner wheel to scrub. I've never seen any drift cars with zero ackerman. I've found a way to get what I need without compromising ackerman. I'll post pics soon.

put the car together, started building headlights. Cut out some quick side splitters... Got to build the lower one still. Also got the motor mounts cut, k member painted, and motor ready to drop in... Still searching for a transmission.

that looks awesome man. Are you going to be making a full bolt in light so too can remove it?

yeah its now(almost) one consealed unit. HIDs cannot get wet... Almost done, also got some lights from the LED man Derek. Still got to make a housing for them as well.

Fitment is sorta a PIA, I wanted to make sure that the high beams dont warm the lexan from heat, so I pushed them back a little further. I cut out pretty much everything under the rad support.. (more weight loss) Still going to paint the housing black..

I see a full frame of the pop up covers in the third and fourth to last pics. Did you decide to go with what we were talking about or gonna try frameless bottoms?
