  1. Well, I know you might be wondering what the progress is on my car. At the moment I ran out of money and I also had to move my business. So for now I've put it on hold and I will try to get back on it soon. I will post anything I do as soon as possible.
  2. You should use Wilwood's reverse mounted swing pedals like I'm using. This way you can move the pedals back and the M/C are inside the car with no more clutter under the hood. You can make mounts off your knee bar you installed to support the pedals. Your other option is to purchase normal swing pedals and mount them to the firewall just like the factory ones do. Now they will not mount to the same locations, but with all the work you've done I think you could mount pedals. I've done this for years with dirt oval track cars and the same thing apply here. Take a look at a dirt super late model car at a local dirt track and you will see they all use reverse mounted swing pedals. Also look at how they mounted them. 3. Paypal sent!!!! This will be a great addition to my car. Thanks
  4. Jimmy, How many people are coming to the Showdown on Sunday with you? I would like to meet up with everyone sometime and check out everyones cars. I will be there some where around the guys from 4G Performance since their shop is next door to me. Let me know and I'll come by to meet everyone. Thanks, Andy owner of PHD (Performance Hose Distributing)
  5. I like the headlights!! That looks great. I might just have to do the same thing to mine, because yours looks so good.
  6. No, it's an aluminum drag cell from Summit. It just has foam inside but no bladder. It's the same as the plastic ones everybody runs but in aluminum, because these cars are hatchbacks I thought it would be easier than building something around it to meet some of the rules.
  7. $300 and man it must be my day because this engine had just been refreshened. After Mike @ 4G Perf and I finished looking at it last night, he said this was the best looking engine he's ever seen from a yard. It has new pistons, bearings, head, and much more. This was a deal!!!!!!!
  8. I found a complete engine this weekend, but it needs some work and we need to check it out. This will help me get the car finished quicker and I still have a back up block sitting here. We were going to make big power but I decided to tone it down some so I could get use to the car. Now we're just going to go with around 350hp to 400hp which is a good starting point. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7779.jpg http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7776.jpg I just started checking it out and this engine has a new head on it. Next I'll see how the bottom end looks later today or tomorrow.
  9. I like the recycle bin under the motor!
  10. I received a new item today and it's a 10 gal aluminum fuel cell. Now I just need to make some mounts. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7774.jpg
  11. I wish I could make it, so I could sit and talk with everyone. Anyway, I guess I'll just have to meet everyone at the track on Sunday.
  12. This is just one of the many items we're gathering for our project. It's a Tilton brake & clutch reverse mounted pedal. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7604.jpg http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7603.jpg
  13. I talked with a customer yesterday about hydraulic handbrakes and he said make sure you run separate calipers on the rear for it. It does mess with your brake system some if you just put it in-line. He said you can't left foot brake the car and pull the handbrake at the same time without it effecting the front brake.
  14. They make all kinds of M/C for use with a handbrake the problem is it's just easier to puchase a complete handbrake with M/C. Look a Wilwood for single M/C
  15. It the size of the piston in the master cylinder. Here's a link to Wilwood http://www.wilwood.com/Start/Centers/Information/pages/faqs_6.asp that talks about what size master cylinder should be correct for your application.
  16. A hydraulic handbrake is much better than the stock handbrake. You dont have to run hard lines to install a handbrake, you can use -3 steel braided lines like you would for the brake calipers so it makes it easier to tie it all in.
  17. Yes I'm in Woodstock, GA 30 mins north of Atlanta. If you don't have plans on May 2nd you could meet me at Silver Dollar Raceway for the Import Showdown. 4G Perf and I are one of the many sponsors they have and we take a few cars down for the event. I really hope to have the cage installed and get it painted so we can install the 4G63 with all of my hose & fittings on it for a display. I will keep you informed if you're interested.
  18. That was my first thought also and I plan on using Stance Coilovers since I have connection with Enjuku. Here's another thought for knuckles, I'm looking at Z32 knuckles off of a 300Z this way I can run bigger brakes up front. I've got big plans for this car but I'm not sure if I can pull everything off. I will try very hard to make it happen. In the next week or so I hope to get a shipment in with seats, remote brake m/c for my Tilton swing pedals, Ksport handbrake, fiberglass hood & airdam, and much more. Tax returs are in and I plan on spending some of it on the car. Also I'm working on becoming a distributor for Fuelab in GA, so I will be running Fuelab on my car.
  19. I'm still in the planning stages on that one. I want to use a front knuckle off of something to where I can use a full coilover set-up with adjustablity. But I also have connections with Belltech through Doug Van Den Brink if I use a Mustang set-up. I will post more if I figure it out soon.
  20. I have a customer that builds 10.5 Outlaw drag cars that's going to build the cage for me. I would do it myself but when you have people that already do this kind of work, I'm more than happy to let them do it. Thanks for the offer on sending specs. I do plan on having door bars in the right places. I have a friend that runs in Formula D and he sent me a copy of their rules to go by.
  21. I just put up a thread on mine here's the link http://www.starquestclub.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=102921
  22. PHD & 4G Performance Drifting project shop car staring with a 87' Conquest. We picked this car up very cheap and I'm glad we stripped this car down to nothing because I found a mouse had been living in the heater unit. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7316.jpg one very tired motor http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7319.jpg the start of the our project http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7343.jpg Now the real fun begins http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7505.jpg making room for a 4G63 http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7517.jpg We took as much out of the doors as possible. It was around 15lbs per door that we cut out. http://i292.photobucket.com/albums/mm15/perfhosedist/IMG_7520.jpg The roll cage is the next big thing to get done. Some time in the next week or so it should start coming together. more photos coming soon
  23. The car looks great! I really like what you've done with the front suspension by using a mustang rack. If you have any problems with the steering effort contact the guys over at KRC Power Steering for a pump that will replace the one from GM. Their pumps are adjustable in flow by changing the pressure fitting, it can go from around 1gpm to 3gpm. They also have worked with some of the top teams in drifting, like Tanner Foust, Doug Van Den Brink, & Vaughn Gittin JR. I just started a StarQuest build here in GA and we're building it as a drift car as well. I wanted to go with an LS motor but the guys at 4G Performacne said they wanted to put a 4G63 in, so that's the direction we're going in. Anyway, good luck with it and let us know when it makes it to the track.
