Laodicea
60-1, I got it all on and fixed the oil burning problem...too bad the nut came loose and the compressor wheel scraped the housing about 10 times..in the first 5 miles. This is why my car didn't make it to Redline....but I am driving it now. Yes that is a long oil line...I have a water cooled cartridge coming this week to swap out with the oil only. That custom internal wastegate hold up fine without boostcreep...however I wil put on the external. Man it has so much more power compared to the stupid 18g. with stock housing. http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t18/gr8white1/DSC00587.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t18/gr8white1/DSC00588.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t18/gr8white1/DSC00589.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t18/gr8white1/DSC00644.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t18/gr8white1/DSC00645.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t18/gr8white1/DSC00643.jpg http://i156.photobucket.com/albums/t18/gr8white1/DSC00640.jpg
Technology
LOL, that oil line is huge! Also, that's a really wierd setup. the blow off valve is a trip, plus the tiny boost tube-to-softline-to-hardline-to huge boost tube is great, lol. Anyway, once you sort it out (if you are going to) it should look really nice.
macrophage
He should try and retrofit a EVO intercooler across the valve cover then put a hole in the hood and scoop to cover it. Edited April 15, 2008 by macrophage

Yeah I am going to get the pipe aluminum welded wth a flange but haven't decided what type of bov to use...Tial style or the RFL...I do like it loud. no evo intercooler....I am getting a 83 hood...and opening up the vents and scoop. What "water cooled center" are you getting ? Interesting setup

RFL's are trash. i'd get the tial or the Denso racing if i were you. both are much better BOV's and i havnt had a problem with either. were as ive had 3 RFL's fail within a couple months. jinx
ok, I gotcha on the 'greek' thing I'll look up the sizes to see what wheels they equate to I was asking if that was an XS power/chinese turbo that came setup with int. wastegate ? Didn't know a garret watercooled CHRA housing would "fit" ? Lotsa turbos do fine without the water cooling... even ebay ones the purpose101 header turbo placement good nice to hear it's a vast improvement over the 18G. Laodicea
Well it is a ebay turbo but not XS...I setup the custom internal myself it has a 3" vband .....used a volvo actuator and made my own bracket....like i said I get no boost creep that flapper opens almost 90 degrees....the hot side is a .63 a/r and front of course is a 70. importwarrior
looks like the ATP 3 inch v band wastegate setup. very nice piece. can you take a few pics of the center section when you get it. i would like to see it. whats the turbo spool like? i always was thinking of one of those Ebay turbo's like what you have. i always hear bad about them. it seems that these stories are from people running way too much boost on an untuned engine. let me know how yours is holding up. thanks. Laodicea
This is actually the wastegate I used....but I only paid $70 shipped....and had to have it machined for a flat surface to use without gaskets. http://www.optionimports.com/inwavafort35.html
