angryhero46
http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1278.jpg Can you tell me more about this. Like how you made it, and what the benefits of it are going to be? and maybe a pic of it installed? What are some of the benefits? · Less rotating mass for the engine to accelerate because of the removed oil · Less loss of power because of excessive drag caused by the windage cloud · Helps reduce engine damaging oil-foaming · Helps avoid oil starvation by keeping the oil in the pan during hard braking and turning as well as during off-road driving · Helps to cool critical engine parts by quickly returning heated oil to the sump · Helps to prevent the cylinder walls from being overloaded with oil · Can help with fuel efficiency crank-scrapers.com I dont have any pics of it installed but it goes inbetween your block and oil pan. This is the 1st crankscraper for our 2.6 made by these guys(they were the only ones i could find to).In a CRAZY to the max build like i am doing then i would reccomend it. Ill post some pics later this month with my progress.

angryhero46
I realized its go time for this car.I was distracted by snowboarding and girls. Both are gone(for now).Got a new pilot bearing and i had to run to cokedoctors for the bellhousing adapter plate. Then it was off to the races. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1406.jpg Cokedoctor finishing up a mount. Apparently everyone has a load leveler except me.So i used a 8awg piece of wire i had laying around.Worked great! http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1407.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1408.jpg http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1409.jpg Ordered Ic Piping this week. Hopefully this weekend with the help of my cousin i will be making my own downpipe. Edited April 7, 2008 by angryhero46

angryhero46
Alright so it was time to modify the old exhaust. The header makes the turbo sit farther back.I needed to have a 90 from the turbo so it wouldnt hit my firewall.I went to muffelerman and had them cut a prebent 90 and put a vband flare on it.Excuse my welding. This was my first time and i probably will use heat wrap anyway. I then cut off the stock flange and some pipe. What you have below is about a 65* angle. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1434.jpg My friend brought over his s*** so i could make it happen. We cut the piece at 12 1/2* so it would make a 90.Protracters are your friend. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1436.jpg It turned out pretty decent. I put in a flex pipe and a 3 bolt flange for removal purposes.I still needed a little more to reach the prebent 90.I just used a coupling for that. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1437.jpg Heres how it sits now.It fits real nice.Im going to run my dumptube later http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1438.jpg Underneath the car.I still need a gasket for it.theres a bung on the otherside for my AEM wideband.I welded the nuts in place http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1439.jpg The exhaust was only about 3" from the ground before. Now it actually looks right.Nice and tight to the car. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1440.jpg I went to home depot and after some searching around i found these brackets.I figured something like this would be perfect for mounting.I used the stock bolt holes and it seems to be pretty solid.1 underneath 2 on the top.I have some reducing couplers on the way.I mocked up the piping for now.Hopefully thats tomorrow. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y170/angryhero46/img_1441.jpg
emagdnim
Not bad welds for your first time!
Chad
Anyone who has welded will say that is a good first job  Looks good under the car too, most will cut corners and not try very hard to get good fitment. I dont' see any corner cuting on this car, should be a real nice reliable ride when you finnish. Headder wrap will hold in moisture, if you live in a constantly damp climate and dont' drive the car a lot, it can rust the tubing under it. If you drive it frequently or store it in a dry area, you'll be fine. Just be sure to drive it after every time you wash under the hood (to dry it out). It will reduce underhood temps drasticly, and you wont' need heat shielding anymore.
emagdnim
Yea, i recommend spraying that downpipe with some 1200 degree aluminum colored paint, drive it once to bake it on... then proceed to wrap it after thats finished. Should last you a long time.
Technology
I say cut a hole in the hood and cut off the downpipe after that 90 degree bend and shoot the exhaust right out the top. That'll keep it cool under the hood.

That'll keep it cool under the hood. I think i might do this.It should be easy to cut a hole in the carbon fiber hood i got for it. Thanks guys.Welding is lots of fun. I had a couple tips from my dad and it wasent to hard. Did a couple small things today.Put headlights in. Ordered some spark plugs. I went with ngk BR8EQ-14's.It's from the rx7 and I know oscar uses them. I cant find a mobil 1 filter to save my live around here. I put my UR Pulley on today.I was going to route my oil lines but i want to finish my ic piping first, I should get to that tuesday. Its getting close. It feels unreal right now how close it is.
