Here is a couple of pics of my knife-edged crank. I hope the performance gains are worth the $400 it cost me.

a speedway guy here has been knife edging these cranks for years his race engines rev to 9500 but he did say that the torque curve dropped off by about 40-50ftlb which is why i havent done one to any of my rebuilds.(yet)

Is he running a 2.6?

What about a knife edge "light" sort a speak where you just remove half of the required weight to make a knife edge crank

that way you wont have to worry about no having torque at some revs. Keep a little more weight on it.

I haven't been here for a while but came across this which make our knife edge cranks look heavy

I haven't been game to try it as yet but I might carve a crank up and send down to my balancing guru

these guys are doing this to a 4g63 crank I wonder what a *54 crank would weigh

It's like this thread still alive and kicking.

it could be worth it I've got to a stage where I cant lighten a flywheel much more

flywheel = 6.4 pound made from steel ( still have to fit the ring gear )and the clutch 5 pound
