Burton
 Well, either tonight or monday I will be making the first batch of 10-15 sets. There is only one problem. The Lexan that I got is 50% tint. I was hoping for something a little darker. I will be working on finding a supplier that can get me darker Lexan soon, but it will be a few weks til I can find some and have it shipped.  So anyway, I will have these lighter tinted ones begining next week. Price will be $40 shipped to anywhere in the continental US. Here is what the kit includes: - 2 Lexan (stuff they make bulletproof glass from) covers 50% tint - 4 Delrin collars that go between the covers and the lights - 4 new, longer screws to go where the old trim screws went - 4 snap cap washers and 4 snap cap covers (these are black covers to hide the screw heads - 1 page detailed installation instructions  Here is a pic: http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMzU1NjQyNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg  Keep in mind this is a bad pic. There is a high intensity halogen bulb behind me so the covers look lighter tint than they actually are. I will get a better pic up this weekend.  Reply here if you are interested and I will PM you with info and payment instructions  Thanks

Burton
I might be able to do that, bu it woud be cheaper for you to buy some spray tint. Thats what I did to mine: http://www.t-racing.com/Image%20file/Starq...ot/DSC06248.JPG you can kinda see in that pic how it looks.

Josh '88
The link works for me. Where can you buy that spray tint at? Will the lights still be bright when they're on? Would the spray tint work on our taillights, to give them a "blackout" look? If we tried the spray tint out & didn't like the results, can it be removed easily? Off the subject Burton, but your Quest in the link is absolutely STUNNING!!! You've came a long way with it, and it sure is paying off. Burton
Thanks, Josh. Yeah the tint works for tailights I did mine: http://www.t-racing.com/Image%20file/barton/DSC05803.JPG they do make it quite darker. Just like the typical headlight/taillight covers and the spray stuff is not removeable. It only works on plastic lenses. I tried to do my front fog/turns with it and it only stuck to the plastic turn signal. It flaked off the glass fog light. Here's a link where its for sale: http://www.autocarparts.com/part/1291/0 I got mine at a local autoparts store for $9 a can. I like it quite a bit. So far I've done the tails on my quest, both my grand ams, my fiancee's monte and will be doing it to the Mazda I got last weekend.
Guest Paul87Quest
How is the light transmission through the tinted tails.......is it still highly visible? I've seen some tinted tails that really dulled the brake lights to the point that it could be considered dangerous. Feedback please!! ;D
Josh '88
burton: Wow, the spray tint looks awesome on the taillights. I'm also curious on how bright the taillights are now, compared to stock. Josh
Burton
not as bad as you'd think. They actually seem brighter than the cars I've had taillight covers for. Not dangerous at all IMO. The most you'll notice is the backup lights are about half as bright as they used to be. I'll put up a pic this weekend.
jr_ss
Does this replace the glass piece that is already located on the foglights?
Burton
No, it is a piece of Lexan that is she same size and shape as the bumper opening of the fog light/turnsignal. You unscrew the trim piece surrounding the lights, then with the new screws and hardware that comes in my kit you screw the cover on. It covers over the foglight/turnsignal. I will get a pic out in the sun this weekend so You guys can see it better.

Burton
Â Yes, the light ones are all set. I have 3 sets sitting on my didning room table right now waiting for new owners. I will be making 4 more sets tonight. That will probably be it for the lighter ones. There doesn't seem to be much demand for them. Everybody wants the dark ones which I'm hoping to be making within the next 2 weeks. I personally like the lighter ones better myself. Â Here's a couple of comparison pics from the Tainter's who got a couple of sets. They took pics of the cars with just the drivers cover on so you can see how much it darkens the lights: http://www.t-racing.com/Image%20file/Conquest/DSC06401.JPG http://www.t-racing.com/Image%20file/Conquest/DSC06402.JPG And another pic of them on my car: http://www.we-todd-did-racing.com/wetoddimage.wtdr/wMzY4MTAyNnM0MTNkZmQzMXk1NDE%3D.jpg That pic is out in the sun so you can tell that even in the light they are still fairly noticeable. sfR87quest
so this piece goes over the factory foglight trim? just like the red quest up there right?
Burton
No, you actually remove the trim. Its in the pics above because they just set the cover against the light. It was before they were fully installed. It uses the trim screw holes but comes with longer screws and hardware for mounting.
