19cturbo Posted April 2, 2015 Report Share Posted April 2, 2015 I cant be the only guy here who goes to these events. They have one every year in Atlanta, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas. I go to all of them except texas if i can. Its always a good time and tons and tons of cars there to see. This past weekend in Atlanta i was out there. Rutledge wood was there with one of his cars they built on his new show Lost in Transmission that will be on the history channel. He said they are doing the show in between Top Gear USA. Anyway, early saturday morning i had just finished parking and cleaning up the car and was just standing behind it when i noticed him walk up. He checked the car out a bit and i was listening to him talk to his buddy about how he liked it. He took a few pics of it with his phone before walking around the back of the car and asked if it was my car. We talked for a little bit about my car and then he mentioned the one they sank on Top Gear lol. I told him people here were very angry LOL. He did say the car was complete trash though before they got it. He also told me the jeep that sank was never recovered. Anyway he was a really nice laid back guy. He was genuinely interested in the car. He was there with his jetta truck. It was pretty unique as well.. It was neat to have someone like that actually show interest in our cars. What's he special thing about a vw truck? never got bent out of shape.. lol. nothing special about it really except its a kit smyth makes to do it to the jettas.. kinda cool i guess, his was a tdi so your still rocking 40mpg yet you have a truck bed.. he was mainly promoting his new show there, which they built the truck on the show.. so i asked him how he ended up with it and he said he couldnt let anyone else drive it so he just bought it instead lol.. and thanks, ive put alot into it to get it to this point.
