The other day when I turned the car on I swear i heard some kind of vacuum leak somewhere. Well sure enough I ran the boost leak test today and found a couple. Before the test I couldn't even get the tester to build any boost. After the test its coming up around 13psi.

Here is my boost leak tester set up.

First was at the fitting right below the throttle body opening. Took it out and added some teflon tape.

Also the hose that runs to that fitting had a nice break. It was on the firewall side so I could not see it from the front of the car until I took it off. I used a vacuum line for now until I order the correct hose.

The diaphragm on the EGR valve is also leaking so I'll swap it out tomorrow before work. Another leak I had but not pictured was at the brake booster line. Forgot to put a clamp on that one. Ill run another boost leak test after I put in the other EGR valve and see where I sit from there. The plan is to get the boost leaks out of the way and then to the TPS reset.

I took the car back to have the header panel finished up so I figured I would get some work done on the 5spd Conquest.

I knew the turbo seals were done on this car but I wanted to take everything apart to start a list for everything I would need for it. There was a ton of in and out/ side to side shaft play on the turbo. Also I found a nice little puddle of oil in the compressor housing which would explain all the smoke when I drove the car. Here is a couple of pics of the car and of a couple of parts taken off.

Before I started tearing into it. Not really anything much here besides the manual boost controller which was set up wrong.

Yes you will be happy for sure removing that bottle neck.

Out of all the turbos I used out of all my 6 quests the td06 18G

Was the best turbo I ever used. In stock conquest shells.

As far as a street turbo. With supporting mods.

Where is a good place that sells a porting kit?

Just buy different styles of metal burrs. Theres a place in town that I go to get mine. The good USA made ones are not cheap but are the best. It will run you around 28 to 35 a pop for the good stuff.

Just to give you an idea:

Ive never bought anything from this place but it gives you a good starting point.

I finally got a set of rear struts and now I can out the suspension in when I get the car back. It took forever to get rears but it finally paid off.

Its been a while since I updated but I have done some work to red Conquest. I ended up going back with another good 12a since both of cores had to much damage.

The mandatory gasket set for the replacement turbo

I changed out the valve stem seals and installed the Jet Valve Delete kit while i was in there

Everything put back together

I ordered a couple more parts. Wires, air filter, lower radiator hose and throttle body rebuild kit.

Ill finish up installing the rest of the parts Thursday and bleed the power steering pump. Hopefully this one will be up and driving around by the end of the month.

It's been a while since I updated the thread, but I have made some progress. I got all the new struts and bellows put in and had the 2.5 exhaust made. The vacuum advance was bad so I replaced that too and I went ahead and set the timing. I'll update with a couple of more pictures as I start putting in a couple of new parts.

Thanks for all the comments. I'm happy that it's finally all together besides a couple of odds and ends.

Today I finally installed the header panel and grille. I'm glad I went with the Motocam Fog Covers.

Got the new windshield installed and it's nice to finally not have to look at that old cracked windshield.

Here's the some info off the windshield if someone is looking for one in the south east.
