89BananaQuest
Ok ive searched and cant find any thing. Has it ever been done? I know a 1uz, ls1, 5.0, and a 350 will all fit but will the dohc 32 valve 4.6?
BOHO
It hasn't been documented on SQC.
89BananaQuest
I didnt think it had but does any one know if its ever actually been done? Im tossing aroubd the idea of a 4v 4.6. I personally think it would fit. I mean it fits into a fox body. And if we can fit the 5.0 in ours why wouldnt we be able tondo the 4.6?
allen405
I think you need to do it, and document it.

TexasQuest
Yea those motors have massive cylinder heads.
89BananaQuest
Yea they do have massive heads. But i plan to do a rack n pinion swap, and convert to manual brakes so no brake booster. Im hoping it will fit. We will see tho. Ive already got a tremec 3650 to go behind it. That im not sire how much hammering its gonna take to fit in the trans tunnel. Good news is my car was originally an auto.
Scotty Dont
It can be made to fit you will have to removed the brake booster and possibly modify the shock towers and transmission tunnel. I used a griffin rad with a spal fan placed in front of the stock rad support for my LS swpa so that maybe be something you need to think about as well. Scotty Dont
Unless you are able to stuff that motor way back against the fire wall I bet you won't be able to fit the sr rad nicely.
89BananaQuest
Radiator will be getting moved in front of the core suport.
patra_is_here
the 4.6 fits in the sq bay, but with only about an inch clearance on each side between the valve covers and SQ strut towers. (according the dimensions given online, when I was considering a swap myself) i like the 4.6 32v. good luck with the swap.

89BananaQuest
Well i ordered two wilwood master cylinders today one for the brakes(gonna run no booster) and one for the clutch. Also picked up a dohc 4.6 32 valve engine today. Let the good times start. Will get getting a line lock and adjustable proportioning valve friday
patra_is_here
yeah notch the towers is always an option. and yeah the math is for the quad cam motors. its going to close. plus, I never got to get measurements from one with exhaust, so, i'm not sure if the exhaust sticks out past that. so be ready to do some metal work! Need to remove the drag link and it should sit down even more. But it fit really well and actually. Idk how the hood clearence is gonna be tho.
