Quest 4 MPI

Recommended Posts

I've been mulling the idea over of getting a cheap android tablet for tuning purposes, but I'm worried that if I have a problem, I wouldn't have a computer nearby to troubleshoot via usb to serial port adapter. I'll most likely end up with a small netbook stored in the car for tuning purposes with a 12V car charger.

I'm sure there is a way to setup bluetooth to communicate with ms just like a serial port using the rs 232 to bluetooth adapter. One of these days I find some time to play around with it. may require some third party program but there must be a way. I'm currently using shadowlogger too

Why does the porting look like sandpaper rather than silk? Or is it a camera angle?

A little rough is acctually better on the intake side supposedly it will mix the fuel and air better. however the exauhst side should be smooth as possible (as far as i know). Either way flow bench resaults have proven a little rough give better resaults than smooth.

Yeah I was surprised by the grit on the port as well and i looked into it and this was the best explanation i could find

"There is also the issue of "surface boundary layer." Air is sticky. It likes to stick to itself and it also sticks to other materials. With a smooth surface that creates little turbulence the air flowing along the surface of the tube tends to stick to it and slow down . It also sticks to other air flowing by and slows it down creating a gradual transition from the slowest air next to the surface toward the fastest air in the center of the tube. A rough surface can create a thin layer of turbulence just above the surface of the tube. This tends to create a sharp transition between the totally chaotic air next to the surface and the rest of the air that flows through the tube relatively unhindered. The effect is to increase the overall average velocity of air that does flow through the tube. However, the boundary layer reduces the effective cross-section of the tube and, thereby, the total effective volume."
