  1. progress has been made. Reassembling things now. Hopefully we will hear the beast roar soon enough
  2. Yeh its warming up again I have all the parts needed to finish her up now i just gotta clean the garage and get started. Shouldnt be long. I sent alot of time working on perfecting some of the areas that i rushed on. But ive been waiting for winter to pass so that when i do get her started i can break in the motor.
  3. this is an old picture but it will do. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t508/jabbottonline/375072_10151466390929401_1632994645_n_zps68bcd69d.jpg
  4. Parts are on the way. Working on redoing the coolant pipe on the Intake atm. Just gotta weld on some bungs for iat and coolant temp. Re center the ignition wheel and reinstall everything. I'm getting close again!
  5. Yeh it was the timing cover to the best of my knowledge we will find out on next start up I suppose.
  6. Well I've finally tracked down the issue of coolant oil mixture. So reassembly is in progress decided to fix up a couple of other things in the meanwhile.
  7. Yeh me either Im finally getting to work on it this weekend!!!! hopefully should be going not to far from now
  8. Just as a suggestion talk to ronnie Jackson on here. He makes headers with his company called JDL they are SUPER LEGIT HEADERS
  9. Getting ready to start working again on the car. Finally have time after doing lots of other things either House or Car work. Hopefully will be on the road in a couple months here
  10. Yeh np NikoFab, unforunatly i still havent gotten the car to run right. Ive been having some very weird issues with coolant and oil mixture. We have been chasing issues with the head gasket. Now after a month and a half later and 3 different head gaskets and intake gaskets i believe the problem lays in the water pump. My belief is that the area where the pump seals to the block through the timing cover is seeping coolant. Bit i will find out soon
  11. I have checked over the entire intake side and have found no problems there. I even had the oil port on the head blocked off by the block off plate and a small amount of my intake milled out to fit it. I was unaware of the coolant staying in the pan but i will be puling that pan off soon. The front cover was sand blasted and painted before installation and a new gasket was installed. Im just hoping that when i pressure test the motor that It drips from there cuz i have plently of spare timing covers sitting around. Ill keep you all updated on what i find
  12. Shelby that does sound like a good idea. How do i go about pressurizing the coolant system? ucw458 im running an HX35 so there is no coolant going to the turbo. I had a thought last night that maybe the water pump was leaking from were the timing cover meets the block. and pouring down into my oil pan. Also there are 2 small bolts that bolt to the timing cover down through the head. Do those bolts have any role in sealing the headgasket?
  13. Ok we have been trying to get my MPI project going now for the last month and im having a terrible time at it. We cant seem to find out why we are getting coolant into the oil. We had an Ajusa HG on it at first then we tryied pulling that off and putting on a Felpro. Still didnt work... Block was leveled and so was the timing cover. Im using a M28 head from Dad, ARP head studs froom Dad, and a felpro head gasket atm. Any ideas because im sick of wasting money
  14. Great looking stuff Ronnie!!!! I hope everyone makes the right decision and buys one of these manifolds so we can get some good quality exhaust manifolds on these cars!
  15. Yeh well im only blockingit off because its just running into my intake manifold. Imrunning a Cannon sytle MPIsetup and it has no use for the egr port. My worries are that it may damage the intake manifold gasket over time.
  16. yes the front cover has been leveled with the block. and not sure how the coolant and oil would mix at the intake but the gasket was quite soaked prompting me to think that it had not been properly torqued down. I thoughts were that it may had been getting into the head through the large oil port that is usually blocked off. I only had a makeshift gasket on it and had never put silicone around it. Another thing that struck odd to me was that the oil in the pan looked fine after i got it back together but when i took the head off it was a strong mixer of coolant and oil.
  17. Yeh no need for that ill probly just push a simalar sized dowel pin into the hole
  18. http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t508/jabbottonline/944193_10151572617769401_953128183_n_zpscc45161e.jpg
  19. So i pulled off my MPI intake and found that the gasket was soaked. Im guessing that this hole is for oil but not %100 sure. Also is it ok to block it off? http://i1063.photobucket.com/albums/t508/jabbottonline/untitled_zps6dfab2ab.jpg
  20. ok well i got the head from randy and had nothing done to it. Do i need to do anything to it or not?
  21. I had the block leveled when everything was redone at the machine shop. Thanks for the quick reply i believe my coolant in my oil problem is coming from my MPI intake not sealing properly then.
  22. Ok so i purchased a njv M28 head from dad and i got the Ajusa head gasket as well. Will the new cast head expect the ajusa head gasket without being machined?
  23. How is the Ajusa not a MLS? its a 3 layer gasket with 2 metal layers and a composite core. That is what a MLS head gasket is right?
  24. Ajusa. Randy sells them on his website
