Yo Evo! Its been a while. Turning wise, when I modified my steering knuckles, I also increased the overall track by 2" I cut out the location of the steering box, out where it would go on the right hand drive cars so it clears in there. I still do hit my caster links, but all that is going to change. Heres a pic with the door open. I brought it out enough and took it forward about 2 inches. Just enough to open the door all the way. Jason his car dope trust me. Crazy fab and body work. Here's a pic open

More to come later today.

You are giving me nusty thoughts right now my friend!I tried uploading some piccies of mine-although i didnt want to until i am finished-but they were probably too big and i failed!

I subsribed to modified only to see your car.....In order to push my wheels further in i had to change-again- the front crossmember back to the modified starion one so i lost all my steering angle and now i am hitting the tension rods too!!!

Anyhow u know we love your car......keep up the good work!

I am right behind u.... :) :) :)

Did something happen with your car?Why is the hood kind of bended?

As for the front tension rods-if u are not going to just modify yours, a good start is by buying a set from tecno toy tuning for an AE86 and modify those!

They are a lot bigger and have ball joints something that will help a lot to stiffen your front end handling......

It was never up a pole..? But yeah about the hood... I raced a new gtr like two weeks ago. After we ran dude wanted to check out the car. So we pulled over to shoot the stuff and like a f in idiot I forgot to put my hood pins back in... Welp at the next light, hit second..and boom hood destroyed the cowl (again) and is sadly wrinkled to you know what. Sucks... A lot. Luckily it didn't break the windshield or hit the roof. Just someth else to fix. Lol. Oh well. Anyways. I didn't get as much done as I wanted to today but thanks to BC I learned a bit more today with the tig. I did get some warping, but it will be filled and smoothed out later. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/johnboy9788/IMAG0936.jpg

Im prolly going to redo the entire suspension set up eventually. I want to build my own everything from scratch. Like tube the whole front of the car.. But thats next winter...lol

your front looks very bad tail.....how much wider are u planning on going with the rear?

I'll have to dig them up. I'll prolly go 2" in the rear since I went 1.5 on the fronts. Nothing crazy just enough so I can fit wider tires.

Got one side done, ready for bondo, the driver side is coming out much better. I'm got a little better at welding today, I know this side will be better. Anyways.

We ran from a first gear roll,( it was about 45 degrees out,) I spun like crazy, blew through second also, naturally he pulled cause I couldn't get traction. I honestly don't think he would have beat me by too much. When we pulled over to chat he said it's making 560hp, with a stage 1 tune and a full titanium exhaust... Which prolly cost him 10k..lol I was going for a rematch when my hood flew up... Stupid me.

Convette,

I can make molds on those, the offer is still up. Just let me know when they are done and i would be willing to go to you and pick them up. I have a friend who does infusion for Boeing, his work is amazing. I also used to build offshore powerboats and have made a ton of molds. Just let me know, there is obviously a demand for these and I am willing to build the molds and a set of parts for my own car to start off. If you want to keep your steel, you can, or you can go glass. Because it's your fenders, you could have either, or both. I was thinking a cowl hood to match. Or an 83 knockoff. We could also do something similar to what the new viper is running with the more rounded look to smooth out the angles of the car. Either way, it's available and I have access to a glass shop nearby that would house the molds for me.

Sincerely,

lance

Thats cool man. I'm going to get these done and we'll go from there. About the hoods, I am going to make something different as well, cowl hoods are avalible (burton), 83's are also. I'm going to change my cooling system much like the C6R, with the hood to follow, but thats down the road.

While we're talking hoods, I would like to see a hood that is straight across the front, i.e. bring the outsides forward to match the front line. Then add some custom non-pop-up lights, like Convettes. It would have to be a package deal, hood and lights. I'm all about weight reduction and simplifying things right now.

Hmmmmm, I like that idea. if you wanted the outline of the original popup light, that could be done with pin stripe or vynal. But just the angle eyes would be great. I was thinking about the angel eyes like Convette has anyway. I believe D_venable said the motors and gear for the lights was 15Lbs per side so that's a 30 lb drop off the front.
