Grant...No...Its probably a few degrees more than I was going for...I took the mounts apart again...Going to try to raise the motor up 3/4 of an inch and take some of the angle out....this is hopefully the last time. I've also burned up 3 drill bits...If I had a press I could do a better job...but...anyways...I hope to have this thing ready to run within a few days....I'm pretty stoked. Will it count as a ride in an MPI car come May??? Will it Grant...?? I'll make sure I bolt the hood down before we go out :)

 

lol. i would say it technically counts as an mpi car. but then again, who cares about mpi at that point, youve got a whole different monster on your hands. and if your lucky, it might be as fast as mine. lol

def. be sure to bolt the hood down. we cant be lucky enough to miss the car two times. i still cant believe how that happened.

im hoping to bring it to the track, but i cant be absolute certain.

i just ordered parts to build a new header for it and once i get that all done, i will be in good shape to get the motor back in and running. however, i know now beyond a shadow of a doubt that i had detonation issues going on. thats why i was popping hg's. so before i do anything, i have got to put this thing on a dyno before it even gets drove around. which isnt really a problem except for i dont need to spend the cash. so if the gods will smile on me, i will be there with it and all will be good. still dont know if i want to run you on the track. im simply not a driver.

So let someone else run it? Thats how my little group does it. I run about 3 of my team members cars for them, simply because I'm a better driver. Cheating? Maybe. But you get to see what your car can really do.

This design is still flawed...I will have to space the front mounts some to get it to clear the trans right...I'm definately not an engineer...

oh yeah...some how..The driver side mount is off by like...2 **** hairs....I think I'm just going to try to waller the hole out that the rubber mounts bolts too....I mean its off just enough to piss you off...Realistically I hope to fire the car up on Monday..Radiator will be in tomorrow

 

Will have Radiator..Intercooler pipes..Powersteering lines and driveshaft left to do...man I hope if fires up and runs smooth.

Did you guys have to drill out on the Throttle body to get the cable to fit? Mine is about a mm too big and wanted to ask before I went drilling on shyt. I'm almost ready for a test start.....I'm waiting on a 6an to 3/8 barb fitting to finish the fuel system...and my powersteering stuff won't be in until tuesday. I had to start the motor on a dry pump but I may just to see if it will fire.....It is going back together fairly smooth.

 

My radiator didn't make it becaues a train was late in Indiana.....bah.....I think this thing is going to look and run amazing....

Do you have a pic of where you went in with the harness? I read where you said you altered the fire wall but I just would like to know what you did before I cut more...

 

I'm getting a little cut happy. Also...I know your not running it now that you went single..But were you running the pipe from turbo intake...over behind the head to the back of the intake manifold? I think it is emission stuff? I was just going to do without...

when you pull the ac condenser out just make the hole a little bigger to get the plugs thru

Ah...I didn't know you guys pulled the condensor. Did you have to pull the dash? I'll have to knock this out tomorrow...I would like to fire it up....have to figure out how to upload a video....

Woo man...

 

 

I got my radiator and powersteering/oil cooler adapters..(for stock oil cooler/8an lines)...Since I have to reweld my crossmember back on anyways...Its good so I can weld some mounting tabs for the radiator on while its out...It looks good....I'm getting to the point where you consider staying up all night to work on the thing to finish it....my blood pressure is up...I don't know if I'm aroused or not...is this bad???? LOL.....

I'm going to un clutter this but...kinda just how its going together for now...I'm literally waiting on a fedex truck to start the motor...it is carrying my p/s feed line.

The only part that has trouble fitting is the slave cyl and this "sandwhich" piece that connect the tailshaft to the rest of the tranny...its the rusty peice here.
