worked on it again for a little bit today.

got the lower rail finished up, and then pulled the frame off the motor, and put her back in the jig

little more done this afternoon...

Got the lower rail on the right hand side of the bike made and on, finished going around a few weld joints on the upper main rails (off the jig), and then set the frame back on the motor with the wheels.

got 2 more of the diagonals cut, notched and tacked on. Of course, not after having the chuck fall off my 2nd hand drill press, lol Oh well.

Got brackets with nuts on them to mount the mufflers made, and bolted them on, then did some more exhaust routing. Specifically finished up to where the 3 pieces of the exhaust are gonna be joined, and split (using stock slip fit pieces). The vertical piece at the joints is gonna be a crossover pipe when all is said and done, once I get everything else routed, I'll mark it , split it apart again, and cut the holes for it to be functional.

Not an update on any work (nothing new) but a new sketch, a Canson rendering (fun for me) to start eploring some color options instead of bare carbon bodywork

OK, lost a lot of pics in the switchover on 26liter, which sucks, but I'm not going back to change it all.

Did a little bit today on her, got the last 2 diagonals on the left hand side (one might change though) and mocked up a little foam core board to get a silhouette

Little more done, cleaned up a couple weld joints, took some measurements for the diagonals to start transferring to the other side, made 2, then started looking at the shock mount and rear cylinder engine mount. Not a whole lot of construction, but a lot of thinking things out.

And a co-worker said he'd let me borrow his TIG, I'll use it for the final welding on the chassis after some practice on scrap pieces

Did a little exhaust work, and got the routing all finished up. Shouldn't be too long before I get to claying up the bodywork, but not sure if I'll be able to take pics of that process (gonna do it at work)

D,

Amazing work. I am always blown away by people that can fab like that. Most people don't wake up one morning and say, "guess I will build a motorcycle from scratch today". Anyway, I am really impressed, well done. Wish I had those skills.

Got a rear shock, now just need the links, tried a little MIG welding with the stainless wire on the exhaust, not too pretty, I think I'll wait till I can borrow the TIG

Also got the rear brake caliper in the swingarm with the wheel. The wheel hub is 10mm wider than the one that's meant to be there, and I shaved 4mm off each adjuster and trimmed the caliper bracket accordingly (trimming has been done for a while, just got to installing the caliper with a disc)

These show the trimming, and show how tight the drive pulley is to the swingarm

And the wheel spins nice and free with everything in

co-worker did it with his pieced together Vegas (Mike Song actually), at some point you have to go get it inspected, mainly to assess a value to it, so the state knows what to tax you on it.

They give you a bright blue VIN plate you have to put in a highly visible spot, and that's about it. so once I have it rolling, I'll start the process to get that done.

Did a little tonight on her. I decided to just do it, and reduce the rake angle on her. I moved it 2.5° from 30° to 27.5° (if my calculations are correct, and going off the frame I built the jig to) Also did a temp raising of the ground clearance to make up for the rake angle change.

Here is it before...

Here is after...

http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P1310741.jpg

Still need to get my hands on a current cruiser chassis' steering head to match the hammer triples and kingpin forks (need to find some hammer/hammer s forks too, for the dual disc setup)

http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P1310742.jpg

Changing the rake angle reduced the wheelbase by ~1" to 64", Once I get a current cruiser steering head, I may shoot for an even steeper rake angle

did some more little stuff, and probably killed a BRAND NEW Dremel tool

In an attempt to close this gap on the bottom of the upper triple....

I took this.....

http://www.26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/15101/P2010747.jpg

And ground it out to this, so far. Needs a little more fineseing to get it to slide down that extra 1/4-3/8", and I have to do the other side...

Also put brake rotors on the front...
