zmds18
I was curious if anyone else had ever pondered on the idea of adding fender flares on top of a wide body quest? It could either look really cool or extrememly gay.... Since ive yet to have luck selling my quest ive started to look back into crap i can do to it... after picking up last months addition of super street and seeing some amazing looking old Z's with suuuuuuuuuper big fender flares it got me thinking.... what do you guys think? im pretty sure its yet to be done... zmds18
on a flatty maybe idk about a wide body.. you never know until you try tho! well what made the idea come to mind is what photoshoped pic of a wide body that someone took and move the fenders even farther out on... it looked killer but was very irrational due to rust issues and such but got my wheels spinnin
D_Venable
did someone say wide flatty?..... http://26liter.us/gallery/albums/userpics/10030/ExtremeFlattyEnkeis.jpg I was gonna do that with my flatty, until I realized how rusty it is/was. Then I decided to turn it into a quicker project and DD the thing year round

D_Venable
she's too far gone to go that far with her. I'm only expecting to get a couple years at most from this shell. Then I might build a locost with the drivetrain, who knows, motor might end up in a better flatty
BC_99
I'll keep an eye out for a nice shell here in the non-rust states. BC_99

Komeuppance
Someone posted a pic of a Euro car with fender flares on a wide body... but that was years ago. I bet someone saved the pic. BTW, it didn't look good. -Robert

zmds18
it does indeed give a nice addition to the 944... ide def be molding mine rather than leaving the bolts exposed but yea....

D_Venable
the reason it works so well on the 944 is because the stock flares are integrated into a body line across the whole side of the car. Our widebody flares aren't part of a flowing bodyline, and thus won't look as good due to a more pronounced double-flare

Our widebody flares aren't part of a flowing bodyline, and thus won't look as good due to a more pronounced double-flare right but i think if you could run the flares to the top of the wide body section it may look subtle enough to look good... i only have crapy paint at work but here is kinda how i can see the flares flowing http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs396.snc4/45911_459461848938_727758938_6244549_718117_n.jpg if they were like that they may actually not stand out so much.... just enough to add something to the car... but i could be wrong... D_Venable
HAHA, no, Derek didn't pass away (I'm Derek). I was posting the pics for the guy, but yes, he did pass away, and the car was never fully completed. It was up for sale a year or 2 ago for 16k no engine. It's worth it with the time and effort put into it, but no one is realistically gonna pay that much
