I can do LED backlighting as well, but haven't tested it on stock faces. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPz6MHCzNVw Who would be interested in having me mod their gauge needles with LED's like I've done here?? I've thought about offering the service, it IS a lot of work. You'd send me your gauge cluster, I'd mod it and send it back ASAP. -Robert Edited December 5, 2009 by Komeuppance

Komeuppance
Hmmmmmmmm... $60 including materials. How's that sound?? -Robert
BrazilBoy
HMMM I may have you do this...Can you do the a/c controls aswell? Also what colors can you do?
Komeuppance
AC controls, haven't tried. I can do red, blue, green, yellow, orange, white, purple. For a little more I can do red/green/blue needles (you can select the color), like I have in my car... just not wired up to a switch yet. I am going to get a shift light and mod it to have the tach needle change colors at a certain rev point. LED back lighting can be done as well, but will cost more for materials. I haven't experimented with LED back lighting on stock gauge faces, but I imagine it would look similar to the nice strong orange glow in my pics. -Robert
BrazilBoy
If you can do the rev needle for redline that would be awesome...Let me know what you can come up with...
Komeuppance
The cheapest adjustable shift light I've found is about $35. -Robert
pitboss
Robert, I'd be interested in the same amber (it looks amber anyways) lighting you have in that pic. I'm wanting to stay stockish colors with the needles but would like to be able to switch them to green color also, and LED backlighting for the gauge faces would be awesome. My bulbs don't fully illuminate my gauges faces. Edited December 6, 2009 by pitboss
Komeuppance
Orange needles or green needles are fine. But both, that would require RGB leds, and a controller or circuit. It can be done. BTW, those are different gauge faces. The numbers/writing is almost transparent which allows the LED's to shine so bright through them. http://home.comcast.net/~Driftability/images/Komeuppance/GaugesSilver.jpgCan't really see it in this pic, but the numbers are opaque blue. -Robert

Komeuppance
Yes. It would look good with the guys that have speedhut or MK1 gauge faces. -Robert
