BrazilBoy
These are not gabbys or monroes are they? What brand would "compare" them with as far as quality?
Komeuppance
Awesome... are these useable for lowered cars?? Any sort of warranty?? What if... toofast
Do you have any pics of these installed and about how long do you think you will have this group-buy?thanks Gary
psu_Crash
Definitely interested. My 10+ year suspension is going to die soon I am afraid. And since I have camber plates to put on might as well do it all. I am with BrazilBoy though. Need to know they will hold up for me, and they need to be comparable to the KYB's I currently have. Sully
These are not gabbys or monroes are they? What brand would "compare" them with as far as quality? its not that hard to figure out. There are 2 discontinued replacement struts for our cars..... its XXX not XXXXXX are the prices for a set of 4? KYB's were way more than those prices. ColdScrip
Interested, only waiting on response back from mookeh on quality of these shocks. Is the price for all 4 corners? No cores needed correct?
101PROPOSE
hello members, this GP is for all 4 corners, two front inserts and two rear complete struts. quality is pretty good on the samples i received. overall finish looks good, welds and etc.. if you need to me check certain parts/area of the sample or need close up pictures of certain parts, let me know. these are not pre-exiting shocks with having the factory just put mookeeh logos on them. these are made new based on the specs i gave them, similar to the discontinued ones. it took about 2-3 months for us(mookeeh and the factory) to develope these. these feel stiffer than my stock ones as they take some force to push the rods in....i assume stiffer is better..? how are other ones? gabbies, monroes, or kybs? do you think pushing down the rods of two different shocks, side by side on a scale would be good comparsion? if so, anyone has extra shocks to send to me to test out? or if you have any other suggestions to test the samples i have, please let me know. no cores are needed and these come with 2 year limited warranty. thanks, 101 Edited January 3, 2009 by 101PROPOSE
Xtreme Industries
Hi mookeeh what would the shipping cost be to postal code T2Z 0H1 the front inserts, do they require spacers or are they a direct fit? also, are you still developing an adjustable version of these? ColdScrip
From what I have gathered, gabriels/monroes are softer and KYB/Tokikos are stiffer. Thus stiffer is better I suppose. I have NO 1st hand knowledge of this. This is only what I have read here. Someone who has tried gabriels/kybs/etc. should chime in.
Casey_L
Wow, yeah I am in on these. I could care less then the quality, at that price they are cheaper then the Monroes! I will be sending you a deposit along with my remaining balance on the rear pillow ball mounts. To compare shocks with any kind of control you need a Shock Absorber Dynometer, or access to one. There are companies that will test shocks for you. Then you need to compare the values to ones for the KYB, stock, and tokico's. http://www.quantumraceproducts.com/shock-dyno2.htm Edited December 29, 2008 by Casey_L
black86tsi
good point i'm in when is the deposit needed and when can we get them I am in need I still have the original ones on my car and its he[[ on my tires and my handling
Technology
If you can easily push the stockers down and they come up slowly, they are shot. If you push on the fender of your car and it bounces at all, they're shot. These would be a nice upgrade to anyone with stock shocks that have never been replaced. nomad
Just so everyone knows, he usually does flat rate shipping for everyone on the lower 48 states. Being as large and heavy (28lbs for full set of KYBs last year UPS) as these things are, expect $20+. I have bought a number of things for 101 and have never felt over charged for shipping.
