Alcyone
with the new title box and the description box who needs a post body anymore? What are my options??? There's a lot of Jag stuff available and the 80s Zs are littering the you-pulls I'll also consider v6 ideas too. I wish I had 4500 dollars I'd be going electric. JustPaus_88TSi
2JZGE VVT-I.. Although, with the cost to buy and swap a NA 2JZGE, you could just as easily get a 2JZGTE VVT-I from an Aristo.
Alcyone
a non turbo 2j with the VVT-I is over 200 hp? or at it? what about mitsubishi 6 cylinders? like the eclipse gt
JustPaus_88TSi
Yeah, the IS300 motor is 215hp/218tq and the same motor in the GS300 makes 220-228hp and 225tq depending on year. But again, a front cut Aristo can be had for similiar costs and get the engine, tranny, wiring harness and ECU etc... Maybe you'll get some aftermarket suspension parts that can be resold. If you're stuck on NA, then yeah the IS300 or GS300 motors would fit the bill nicely. Other V6's like a 3.5L Nissan VQ35DE would be nice also. Another thing to think about, maybe the Infinity Q45 V8's, or the Lexus GS400 or SC400 V8's.

I'd hate to ruin that sound! I might consider a mustang v8.

Michaels_RT
6G72 or 6G74 gogo!! You can get a strong clean 3.5 liter DOHC V6 from the Japanese import motors for less thn $2k all day long, shipped. That or just go with the NA 3000GT/Stealth motor which is $1200-$1500 used in great shape all day also. Hell if you are gonna go with the 6's, those are 2 good options. DieHARDmitsu.
BMW inline 6 E36-M3 motors: S50 3.0l and S52 3.2l both have about 240hp I recently sold my 1998 M3, one of the best car I've ever owned; just regular maintainance and you can beat the krap out of those motors. Its a chain driven motor too so you don't have to worry about t-belt snapping. Edited May 2, 2009 by DieHARDmitsu.
