Modded Magna GP Feeler *Updated with Pics*

Hey Guys,

Have been kicking this idea around for a little but, so I thought I would throw it up here to see the response. What we are thinking is get 5 or so Manga Intakes sent over from my good buddy Brendan (great guy!). Get them all modded here at the house, and then send them out to you. Thinking of the price along the lines of $450 shipped. What you would get for $450 shipped is the modded magna, fuel rail, manga FRP. This would be ready to bolt to the US style head with the smaller water port, however if you wanted we could make it for the magna head.

If you were at PF08 you could see the handy work of 87quest-tsi (Dave), on not only my MPI car with the intake, but the inner cooler pipe, aluminum radiator, as well as his radiator in his car.

I will go snap some pictures of the setups so you will get an idea of the quality of work done.

If there is enough interest we can maybe even do a few more.

Regards,

Matt

your charging over 200 to mod it?

The price is $450 shipped to your door ready to bolt on. Material cost is going up, not to mention shipping costs both from NZ or AU not to mention shipping it to you after it is modded. Go price some time at a weld shop. Most shops charge $50-$100 just to turn on the machine.

What kind of time line we looking at here?

I can talk to Brendan and get them shipped tomorrow, or next month. As far as modding. We are looking at 1 intake per weekend, possibly 1 1/2 intake. See as Dave and I both have full time jobs we can only work after 5 pm or weekend. So once we get the intakes in our hands from Brendan, the first intake will be done two weeks out. Then we should be cranking them out one week at a time, that is if everything goes smoothly.

Essentially the GP will work as you send a deposit that covers the cost of the intake and the materials to mod it. Then when they are done you pay the rest and I will ship the intake. If you have any "custom" request outside the normal mod we can accommodate that. For instance you want AN fittings on the water ports, or you need extra vacuum ports.

Before the GP starts we will have another intake modded in the fashion that the GP will follow. Pictures from all angles will be taken and more upon request.

If you guys have any other questions let me know. I am actually not making any money on this GP. The money is going towards materials and paying 87quest-tsi for his services as a certified welder.

I dont need a full break down of the cost...I just need to know how much the deposit would be. Basically I want to know how much I am paying for the intake and how much for the total materials.

Gotta know where my money is going.

I hear ya man.

Basically it would be a $200 deposit on the intake. That should cover most of it, the rest would work out once it is completed and sent to you :-)

just some info as i have done this in the past for quite a few.

4 magnas is the most that you can fit in a box shipped safely to keep shipping costs down.

the gaskets that go between the two pieces of the manifold are gone. (i cleaned the australian mitsu dealer out on my last gp. you can always cut out your own, but getting a mitsu one is impossible)

if anyone would like to use this on a magna head, i have some of the mitsu gaskets that fit between that i can send out to you for free. (these cant be found in the states)

if you have any questions let me know. i have found a lot of ins and outs to get these to the states with the least amount of hassel and lowest shipping rates

and ps asking how much the break down is, cost, etc is kind of rude. when you go to McDonalds do you ask how much your burger cost to make? This guy is offering parts and a service that may be difficult for the average joe to get their hands on. Trust me, running my GP on these was no cakewalk

gl and good work

Asking someone how much something costs is not rude...you take your car to a shop and they give you an estimate with the price of parts and suggested labor costs. The prices are broken down so you know what cost what.

Minagera - I'm not giving you a hard time just like being informed. Let me know when you and Brendan will work this thing out so I can save my red pennies up so I can buy one.

The breakedown on price would be: 1 modified magna intake, shipped to your door for $450.

Most magnas Ive seen for sale are in the $150-200 range unmodded... that doesnt leave a whole lot for things like modding, shipping, packaging materials, time spent running all over town....

Some pics would be great. The quality/look of the weld would be a selling point for me. Sure, some welds may do the job but if they look like crap it ruins the entire project. I worked with probably one of the best welders in MN so the bar is set pretty high.

my magna intake was about 1/3 modded when i got it and it still needed a pretty good bit, not to mention i wanted some custom touches. trust me, this amount of work work is well worth the price.

i can vouch for the weld quality of dave. im a very competent welder and his welds make mine look poor. this is well worth it.

some advice on the bottom mount'd sensors i did that also and soon found out the a/c mounting bracket hits them,,and no a/c if that matters to you,,you can cut the rear

a/c mount arm off and it all clears ok

These will be modded to fit A/C, just as my MPI car is modded for A/C.
