What do you guys think about Windows 10?
jisleyjr replied to Starfighterpilot's topic in Digital Quest
I have only used it a little bit. My gf's computer was acting up so i did a factory restore (windows 7). Then i upgraded to windows 10. The only issues i had are some of the bloatware that HP had in their win 7 instance will not run in windows 10 and i can't uninstall them either because it tries to run the program's uninstaller exe. So i should have removed all that stuff before converting/upgrading. Using windows 10 is different, i was never forced into win 8 for my day to day operations at work. I have to work on machines that have win 8 / 2012 on them and i get scared and confused on how to do stuff. So some of win 10 features are similar to that but have some of the similarities of win 7. I am annoyed on how they display the All Programs list though. If i had to use for work i think it might be neat because we use Office 365 and all that other cloud stuff so it seems like it would integrate nicely. -
@Alspos I haven't seen one like that before. Here is the one that came with my Magna, I'll see if i have a pic of it alone. http://i131.photobucket.com/albums/p299/jisleyjr/88conquest/th_IMG_20130403_190755_zps1708963d.jpg

Ha, wrong state.

No kidding? Which area you moving to? And it isn't that cold here people

I agree with the helicoil idea. I had to do that because of a similar situation. I ended up with 10mm studs because there wasn't enough material for 8mm helicoil kit to grab on to, which required me to drill out the exhaust manifold for the bigger studs. It worked out fine without any issue of loosing or exhaust leaks.

Thanks Shelby for all the help directly and indirectly the last 15 years on this message board and other ones. I am praying for you.

It was a brisk 5 degrees out but the sun was shining and the roads were nice and dry, so i loaded up the 88 with some cans/bottles/cardboard and drove over to a recycling drop off spot. I have a heated garage so starting it wasn't an issue. I ended up just cruising around for awhile and found out it is very easy to break the tires loose with cold summer tires.

lol, i was thinking the same thing.

Sharp car, i like those wheels too. What are they? They remind me of the 03 Cobra Mustang, but i looked those up and they are different then these.

Wow, thanks for pointing this out, i was kinda thinking about upgrading my intercooler.

No we don't need to start a fire. I was just making sure that the fuel rail wasn't clogged up. I would make sure that it isn't clogged from where the regulator is hooked up to where the hose connects, i have seen this happen before. Make sure the return fuel line isn't clogged either, you should be able to remove the return hose and blow into it and hear gurgling in fuel tank. On an 87 only 1 injector is used for low rpm's, so if you see both injectors firing you have other issues.(stuck injector, possible short in wiring causing both injectors to fire) What does "if i disconnect the pipe from turbo" mean? Between turbo and MAF?

What year is the car? You literally have the regulator removed and fuel isn't dumping out every where??

New Injectors on 83' wont boost now...?
jisleyjr replied to 83Starion-11's topic in Flatbody Mechanic
You actually found new injectors for an 83?? -
Hmm, i should check into my set up. i am running a td05h/s16g and i noticed while in 2nd gear that boost doesn't build until 3k but it isn't long until i hit 15psi. Are you guys running this with just a stock td05 hotside?

Help With TunerStudio 2.6 and MS2Extra Tuning
jisleyjr replied to jonboyb's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
Hey, looking at your set up we are running the same thing. I have a td05h/s16g, not sure if that is the same as big16g? Here is folder of my current project, you should find the .msq files and everything else that you would need. https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0ByXAONmIcBekUTM2TlNZcDYzRDA&usp=sharing Let me know if you aren't able to download files. -
D2- measurement 2 this will help us all out.

One thing i have noticed is that people aren't mentioning the preload. I assume everyone's d2s arrived with the springs being loose, so no preload at all. I am not even sure how to say what i set my preload too? Maybe the height/length of the spring? Can anyone measure the height of springs when there is no preload? What are people using for the rebound/bound setting? I started with 10 clicks turning it clockwise (0 is softest) and found that to be bouncy, i think am closer to mid 20's now and i still think it's too soft at times like during a corner, uneven pavement, or if i get on the throttle i feel like i am squatting too much. Is there a connection between the preload of the spring and the rebound/bound setting and how the car should handle? I am sitting pretty low right now too, comparable to JohnnyWadd's photo. -
Wow, did she leave the windows open too? I would have to see that to believe it, because i would be close to 300 with random service charges tacked on. It is windy, also there is a lack of trees, but i think it has more to do with weather patterns and how the jet stream is positioned. Lots and lots of oil, and gas but a chunk of that is just getting burned off, i don't know how anyone could not have heard about this. That side of the state has been booming since 2008ish. A majority of it is getting shipped via trains to refineries all over, there is one by Bismarck but it is as capacity already. Getting a massive pipeline or refineries built will take forever due to... well we all know how long it takes for anything to get built. I am not sure if there will be a tie into the XL Trans Continental Pipeline, i believe that is getting built (or planned on) more the eastern side of state, but that only goes to Texas refineries.

I am confused by the .002 comment, the last time i looked at my bill i was paying 10.9 cents/kw. A couple years ago it was 8 cents but due to EPA's emission caps the cost to generate energy from coal plants has increased (due to new equipment needed to reduce emissions) while the cost of coal has decreased. Also a part of that increase is the cost of energy from renewable sources. The energy we produced via wind is more then i thought, but i don't think this is for the entire state, it just might be these providers. http://www.kwh.com/content/energy-sources http://www.xcelenergy.com/Environment/Renewable_Energy But do you think those wind towers are cheap to buy and run? Nope!

That is the setup i am running. For the VR bracket i found that the 2 bolts that go into the timing cover were too short, it felt like barely any threads were holding. I went to a local Fastenal and found that they had some that were a 1/2 inch long. BUT i bought this stuff a loooong time again, so maybe the hardware has changed.

Can you expand on that statement? I haven't had any issues with the one i have been using for a handful of years.

Mapdot or tpsdot megasquirt
jisleyjr replied to Skullzaflare's topic in MPI/Standalone Trials and Tribulations
So for example if you have a tpddot of 150% in the log and in the AE configuration you have the 2 points of 125% = 1.0 and 175% = 2.0. You'll need to find the slope of the line (rise over run) between the 2 configuration points (the rise is 2.0 - 1.0 = 1.0, the run is 175% - 125% = 50%, so 1.0 / .50 = 2.0 for the slope. Take the slope times the difference between 125% and 150% and you get 2.0 * .25 = .5. Take .5 add onto the 1.0 So the AE value at a tpsdot of 150% = 1.5ms. This is why i'd rather log it. -

There should be a folder called projectCfg where your .msq files are at, in there is a mainController.ini file. Look for a section like: I just added a line at the bottom: -

Right, i log them too, but when i see a tpsdot of 147, wth is the AE going to be? Sure, i could do the math but who has time for that?
