patra_is_here
for the love of all that's sacred, can we require members to post their state in the title of the for sale section posts. lots of the for sale section is useless because some of us aren't going to ship a couple doors or fenders or engine block or a set of rims across the country when there's a pair two hours away. every other car forum requires users to state location in the thread title, can we please follow suit? NotStock88
Simple work around is by doing an advanced search and just type in state name and part in the search field, then select the corresponding forum and click search. is that too hard? JohnnyWadd
or just make the for sale forum locked until your profile location is updated. having the location in the title is no big deal. put it in your profile, done.so big deal if you read a for sale post about a big heavy item and its a few states away? that takes a few seconds off the time you are gonna spend posting in the bs forums and now you know what the guy has for sale so maybe later you see a parts wanted ad and you can tell the poster of that ad "hey i read a thread in the for sale forum a couple days ago a guy in your state had some doors for sale i didnt buy becuase they where too far, but you should pm the guy"i sincerely dont beleive that you are gonna skip a for sale ad if it doesnt have a location or has a far away location especially if its something you where really looking for. you never know the part might be free!! i sent a full front bumper and cover to new york for 90 dollars shipped to a guy that read my free bumper ad. every other car forum requires users to state location in the thread title, can we please follow suit? um no becuase we are not like other car forums. white quest ky
Do a craigslist type deal for the cars for sale or make it optional to where you can type in a state or region and all the cars for sale in that area or the members in that area come up. This would help reduce how annoying for sale posts are and also maybe bring members together that didn't know they were really close to another member. techboy
I actually just came wish list section of the forum to suggest this and I see someone others have recently beat me to it. My suggestion was going to be specifically for the Cars For Sale Section however ..... many other forums I belong to require this. Here's my thought/suggestions - I think the Cars F/S section should be required to list the STATE in the heading. Just my .02.
Jody1
I agree. I was at the wish list department to request this very thing. Please require that the sellers location be posted.
tcroson
id say just put your zip in the title too.. google is literally just a click away. at least the ad. that way, i can see a more general location than say just TX,or CA.but eitherway,, long overdue.
