So I was driving and shifted from 2nd to third. Engine acted like it locked up. Wouldn't turn. If I set for a sec it will turn but very laboriously. No foreign material in oil. New battery, starter checks out. Any Ideas what I'm up against? I appreciate your help. Thanks, Richard

Also there are two holes on side of the case on the dry side that you can see the shaft from, what are they for
