    Exhaust Manifold Troubles

    hachi_destroyer
    By hachi_destroyer,
So I started hearing a funny noise coming from the passenger's side of the engine compartment and went under the hood to check it out. Turns out one of the exhaust manifold studs was not a stud... it was a bolt. The bolt had stripped the threads in the head and left a gap between the head and the manifold which is what I'm guessing was causing the noise. The bolt was pretty much undamaged but I ran it through a re-threader anyways and tried to tap the hole where there is supposed to be a stud. T

I have a competition clutch flywheel and clutch combo. My starters keep going and they always have some kind of grind too. do you use shims for the cars with light weight flywheels installed?
