I noticed in pics a lot of SQs have a rubber one,but my 89 has a leather one that "looks" factory.Is that just the 89s or is mine after market?

So I have owned my 88 quest for about three months now. It runs great besides the fact that under a moderate to hard acceleration it will cutout or sometimes even backfire. I have an electric fuel pressure gauge installed and at idle my fuel pressure is 30-32 psi. On a hard acceleration it goes to 42psi. I have read somewhere that at idle it should be 38 psi. I have changed out the fuel filter with a WIX filter and also cleaned the cone filter at the pump. My next step was going to be pull
