Just whated to say some things to put a bug in your guys ear ...Now been playing in Montero world of late .. Now Montero world just loves their autos 200K plus they get on miles out of one...I "think" theres a way to go RWD... Theres autos in RWD Mitsu trucks ...???????... And late Montero sports have a RWD 2wd lockup auto trans to a 4g64.....? ????????????? . .Now juice boxies are evil ... And one only has X number of hours in ones day and I'll never see where this info thats been in my head for some time will go ... Some auto pervert should do some looking to swap a V6 Montero auto with a 4cyl bell and Nissan parts at the driveshaft ..(I think on the tai.. just a rumorl).... I've been in and out of the base for some years now ...Do to digging up airplane parts in the plane junk yard for some work I'm doing ... No note I have found on my cars ... Yellow Quest or the "Purple People Eater" would be the cars of mine you would of come across ... The PPE car is a white Quest tan inside ..With the most jacked up purple stripes painted on it ..I'm sure you would of said something on it ...The worst paint job ever put on a Quest maybe..?... I did not paint the poor car that way ... LOL......Or .......Cry ... She's only 88k on the miles ... I looked some time ago and on what was left of the parts in all the LSDs and did not find much left ..... I guess it would be good to and a plate .. If you like ... I have not ..I could not get new plates and did not want to cut up a LSD ..Just hate to eat up parts and make the this any hard a mod then every one feels it is.. Number wise the math says in the Haztoys hands on scale..This is a good size LSD for the size car were playing with....You want to know how Arts LSD is stacked..??..Or....You could put a DANA shim under the ends.... Theres lots of ways to do it really.. You find the box ?...... still have the box ..???..If the box went MIA ...let me know .. This for your auto car..?? Good to see you getting to this ... And this is still wrong ...The "new stack" is OK but its loose.. If its not "draging" the out side wheel in the 7-11 parking lot with everyone looking at you funny its to loose for my liking.... Try is ... you did your stack like this ) ) | | | |--| | | | ( (.........I do them this way | ) | ( | |--| | ) | ( |....Anyone getting what I'm try to say here ??? .. Anyone see how if you stack it this way theres WAY more load on the plates ...??? ....The you need a press to do it ...And its a bit*&^h to line up ..But once you do one its not to bad to do more ...

Then just pull your diff and head up the hill...and well get it done ..........

Good to see gears being dropped in ... No disrespect anyone here ... But (A) There's no need to get or ad any more spring plates to the LSD... If you set the LSD up and did it with out a press your still set it up loooooooooooose..I own one of the highest horse power Quest in the country and a nother Quest set up for gravel and tarmac rally that I thrash the sh*&%t out of it ... And have not needed to add spring plates...These plates are about the same size as a 1/2 ton truck...You can if you want to but "I" see know need too... (sorry Chad ..No disrespect to you on this...) (B...) ..On honing out the bearings out to get them on and off EZer.then lock-titing them on.. WHAT ARE YOU NUTS....PLEASE do not no this ... You will spin a bearing ......Pull the bearing off the D-50 there the same ...And hone them out ...Us them to set up the diff ..Once the gear set is right ...Install the Quest bearings and buttin it up... One of these days someone on here with some "pull" on this forum is going to cut the bloody torque tube out of there car and clean up the wheel hop...As I have ...Whole new car once its done....!!!!!!.. I realy wish Chip would be the one to do it ... Then it would be respected...The more horse power you put to the tube the more it bounces around ... You wonder why auto cars have less wheel hop ..????????? The auto shifts faster then the tube can uncoil ... You can't shift a 5 speed fast anuff to keep the tube coiled... On gas the tube coils ...Lift to shift the tube uncoils ...Once the wheel hop starts it bounces off the tube ...... Sorry if I've uppset anyone on this .... David Hazardous Toys inc

You all do know that if you get some wheels off a early Ford Ranger ...Spoon on some studed snow tires ....These cars really rock in the snow and on gravel roads .... Do not ask me how I know this ...

And Indiana as you know and is not often said here in Starquest land ...The number one part in a motor to start to die and kill your horse power is the valve springs..Reman heads from some "fast food" place d**** your power on a new motor..In side a motor as it turns metal parts that are ounces turn into pounds and pounds turn into tons..!!..As a motor turns faster it just gets heavier and heavier ...With heavy valves as this "fat bottom girl" of a motor we so love has... The springs get weak and you get valve float ..You realy loose upper end horse power with old weak spring ... My 2.4 rally motors go three race then start loosing horse power ... I "back hack" the car when I turn it ...So the valves are bouncing off the piston at 7000 RPMS off gas ..Every time I get to a corner...I notice the difference once I swap to new springs ... The mark on the head is from the gasket moving around when it got hot...Heat goes to the smalls point first..So the gasket gets the hottest right around the ring thats at the cylinder... I'm jumping in this mid stream . .If I may ask ..."Why did you pull the head off to start with...?????????...

Hey all ...Got some 9 inch wheel up on ebay ...In not to bad of shape ...One has a mark on the lip..Looks worse then it is ...No flat spots in the rims Will be putting up some metal louvers that need paint ...but do have the MOUNTS that go with them ...It will be a day or so... yes it sold ..I hope ... It realy is one of the better mods ... But is realy over looked in Quest world ... Sad ... These cars would have more reaspect in the car world if we would gear them down... But for some reason its not done ... Strange...?...I've gottin lots of flak over the price of a 3.90 drop out on here so I've just gone to e-bay were its EZer...And at $550.00 with shipping in that price...A drop out is 70 pounds so its not cheap to ship...The one thing on gears is the performance gain is across the board ...It more of a point of leverage at the rear wheel ..These cars are a fat bottom girls ..And need the push that gears give...The LSD in these cars are set up loose also and I away fix the plate stack in the LSD also.. The mpg is not lost ..do to better leverage at the rear wheels .....

Sorry on no links ..But I can set up a rear diff ezer then I can work a PC..These little pc boxs kick my back side ..Go to ebay and put in starion 3.90 it will come up..Hands down best mod you will ever do ..The lose of rpm is little trade off to the gains ..And NO ONE DRIVES THAT FAST TO KNOWDEST ANY HOW you do not drive 100 mph every day all day any how ..And if you do then your drinking gas anyways .... Lots of BS roomers here on SQ world on the neg of gearing and rpm and mileage...Guys do all these mods and no gears.And all this power goes to the rear diff and a big part of it is gone do to high gears..Were a stock quest with 3.90 would out drag alot of the mod cars here that do not have gears.. Hands down the best and should be the first mod we should be doing around here ..Why does the Mustang guys all do gears ...???Why ...All mods cost some were ...No free lunch ..But some lunchs taste better for the money,,The only lose in gas mpg you will see is do to your foot being in it to the floor more do to the car running so much better .Theres a reason all the big boys on here do gears or its on the list...shelby,, chad,, chip..chad.. Chips going to sh@#t when he puts in the 3.90 diff..But he knows that... Hands down best mod you will ever do...Lots of BS info people get in there head on gears ...You think shelby and chad would be wrong ...Shelby just did a gear page FAQ for his health right,,,Don't think so...Been modding cars for some time and pay the bills modding cars ..The reason the gears do not get done is you can't pop the hood and see them and say OOOOOOOO..
