  1. The guy sounds like a tool, but at the same time I know several couples with children under 1 year old and they hardly get any sleep. I'd try to keep cool for 6 months, after that his kid will be old enough the guy won't have much of an excuse.
  2. Subscribed. I'm in for one, either through a Group purchase or if Dean wants to split shipping with me.
  3. I'm waiting to pick up an aftermarket cam before I install it, so I haven't had a chance to use it yet.
  4. You're mixing people up. S&M were two brothers, Shawn and Mike that sold that fabulous tri-bar strut brace for the front and they made a matching one for the rear. Shawn also was known for sewing up shift boot covers. I met Shawn briefly at Carlisle one year. Really nice guy. IIRC his brother moved down to Brazil and I think Shawn eventually moved down there as well. Shawn Silva is/was a fabricator from Canada. He made the 1st (as far as I know) adjustable cam gear, and also advertised his own intake and exhaust manifolds. I have both the adj. cam gear and the S&M bars.
  5. I had been planning to go to this for months, but Fri night was a friend's birthday party that didn't end till 4am. I slept through my alarm and missed it. I wasn't bringing my car so it wasn't a huge loss, but I still wanted to go. Hopefully they'll do it again next year.
  6. You guys know that the location was changed right? It's in Delaware now. Here's the new address: Wilmington Blue Rocks Baseball Stadium - Lot A. 801 Shipyard Dr. Wilmington, DE 19801-5154 http://www.mitsubishicars.com/MMNA/jsp/owners-site/owners-day.do
  7. I'm going. I should have my badges any day now. Not sure which days I'll be there yet, probably just Wed and Thurs.
  8. AWD doesn't mean the car has launch control. It takes a lot of practice to launch an AWD car to it's full potential, especially one that is turbocharged. The margin of error is small, it's a new car to him, and with the car being well used he's going to have his hands full.
  9. Craziest garage duo ever? http://www.deviantart.com/download/87310646/lamborghini_reventon_wallpaper_by_albenyd.jpg http://tharunaya.info/mx0125/wallpaper/image_wallpaper/Maybach_Exelero_Concept,_2005.jpg
  10. Welcome to the club. They are a piece of cake to turbo and they really need it, especially with the auto.

  12. If Pagemo hasn't hooked you up let me know. I have a set in very good condition.
  13. Looks great! As I was looking at the first couple of pictures I noticed the original headlights were starting to yellow and I was thinking: "I hope he doesn't go to all the trouble to paint the truck and leave the headlights like that". Obviously you addressed that with some really nice replacements. I hope the truck continues to run great after all that work you put into it.
  14. I just ran into these photos of a customized Starion scale model. I wonder if he was inspired by Burton/Kate's car? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v205/crazyhorse001/Starion/IM000761.jpg http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v205/crazyhorse001/Starion/
  15. If you were happy with what you had why not just replace it with a used OEM headunit? http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=saturn+ion+cd+changer
  16. I'm still skeptical that this is going to happen. I forget what the exact time frame is, but it sounds virtually impossible. Something like the track has to be done in 21 months. It's an empty field and there is no final design....it's going to take an army of workers working around the clock to build a track to F1 standards in well under 2 years time. And that's assuming that politics doesn't come in to play and cause all sorts of delays. There are 2 recently designed/built tracks near me. One in NJ that was completed last year and one in PA that is still in the process of being built. IIRC both projects were announced around 2002 and the amount of red tape, court hearings, town hall meetings and just general BS that goes down to get these tracks built is insane. The guy building the track in PA has been working on it since around 1996, finalized a design around 2002, and has been fighting the locals for nearly 8 years. He had to fight a zoning issue all the way to the PA Supreme court to get zoning approval, and just a couple months ago it was announced that he finally won. Maybe building a track in Austin TX is easier, but it's wishful thinking that it'll go up without a hitch and they can't afford any delays. It's going to be interesting to see if it can be pulled off.
  17. I love deals like that. A couple years back, just before I moved into my house my Dad found a Craigslist deal. A local warehouse was closing and needed to get rid of about 40 of those industrial metal shelves immediately. 40 shelves for $100, but you had to take all of them. He went over and after a couple of trips back and forth with his trailer had them all home. He gave me 5 (1 of which I cut in half and turned into a work bench), gave a few others away, and kept about 7 for himself. Then he sold the remaining 20 or so for $10 a piece. Win-win-win. If you don't have esy access to spare parts and a bench to work, you don't know what you're missing.
  18. I thought this post was going to be about the double rainbow video on Youtube. "What does this MEAN?!"
  19. 4 spark plugs and a TB gasket = $205 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250663946174
  20. It was made by a shop here in PA called Ground Zero Performance for the big 3000GT National Meet. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d111/3Scar/3000GT%20Trailer/GZP_NG004.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d111/3Scar/3000GT%20Trailer/GZP_NG014.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d111/3Scar/3000GT%20Trailer/GZP_NG024.jpg http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d111/3Scar/3000GT%20Trailer/GZP_NG079.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash2/hs082.ash2/37426_461615424147_691634147_6164706_873737_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs162.snc4/37426_461615434147_691634147_6164708_2817781_n.jpg http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc4/hs141.snc4/36427_461624564147_691634147_6164989_6547416_n.jpg I wonder if Coke would consider converting his wrecked car into a trailer?
  21. And to round out all the late 80's/early 90's Japanese sports cars, here's an FC. http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b69/brendan3006/t2006.jpg
