Yeah a dyno is just a tool to get an idea. If you want to check real gains from a mod or two then use the same dyno (hopefully the exact same one not just the same brand/style) A mustang or a dynojet can be changed to show some crazy numbers...low or high

I see what you mean by a higher rpm engine not lasting as long. I figure it would be pretty minute and really come down to the builder anyways. Either way sorry for not contributing much to the actual thread purpose. If it were me I would say get the 1mm OS SS valves and don't do port work unless you are really wanting to make a lot of power compared to what others have with the g54b. ~450+whp

I didn't read a lot of the last page but I would like to just point out one thing. High revving an engine isn't exactly good for it but I wouldn't say that is what will always kill an engine that is built for it. The problem with the td05 AND ...AND td05h and probably even the td06 is that it creates a lot of backpressure. That backpressure WILL hurt an engine revving out and you will not continue to make power past 5k or whatever rpm like you could with a larger turbine. So if you ran a 17c with a .70 a/r t3 exhaust side it would do wonders for making more power than a td05 or td05h 17c.

I would be worried...especially depending on the year of your car and your driving. Although if your car runs very well (no issues) and you up the boost to about 15psi then you will have no problems. I don't really see torque being beneficial in a race like this...is it a drag race? (from a dig) If it is from a dig it really depends more on driver than anything. Also unless you have an enormous turbo please don't swap to 3 inch intercooler piping lol Basically swap to a 14b turbo and 15psi and win

Yeah I don't mean to stir up hate but please don't listen to conquest9113's info. The only thing you should have to worry about it having a crappy exhaust side on a 20g. The 20g will boost 25+lbs and be completely fine...however if you are using a td05 or td05h exhaust side I would be worried for you. Try to get your hands on a td06 or td06h etc.

You do not need to remove the torque tube to remove the driveshaft. The driveshaft has 8 bolts total to remove. Pretty straight forward except you might have to turn the driveshaft to get a bolt or two

I would also suggest the oil lines to the turbo. One of the metal ones on my 12a broke completely in half and left me on the side of interstate. Good luck!!

Wait isn't that the older gasket? I think the 9116 or whatever the "9" number one is was supposedly better for higher hp cars? If you car is all stock I am sure the 8770 or 9116 would work fine though.

Yeah you will do a trans swap end of story if you are shooting for 500+whp Our engines tend to make relatively high torque for horsepower because of the setup (or most people choking the turbine). I am curious about your said claim on making 300+whp on a TBI setup? It has been done and isn't particularly hard but I am curious of the mods you used to accomplish this?
