  6. While far from perfect its really not a bad car (although when I bought it I was told the motor was brand new obviously I was duped and im trying to be as honest as possible). If i had the time and a place to work on it I would put the new motor in but its too much hassle. I gotta rent an engine hoist, then fine a place to swap the motor and it just sucks. Plus I just picked up a very reliable fuel efficient miata so im gonna mess around with that.
  7. Ok So last night I put the car in a ditch (stupid rain) and Kinda messed up the bumber. I am just totally disgusted with the car now. Its an 87 TSI with about 145000 miles. It currently runs and drives but has an oil pressure problem. I have a spare motor I will include for another $150. The car has an HKS Boost gauge, HKS Intake, HKS BOV, Walboro 255lph Fuel Pump, 1st Gen MAF with K&N, and *DM 2.5" Downpipe. The title is clean and is ready to be picked up. If you have far to go I would recomend getting it towed just because It doesnt run the greatest. Please take this massive headache off my hands.   8. Just curious why does everyone remove the Jet valves. I would think the mitsubishi engineers put them there for a reason so why take them out? Or maybe the mitsubishi engineers never wanted to have them there in the first place. Maybe chrysler told mitsubushi they would re enact the bombings of hiroshima and nagasaki if they didnt put the jet valves in. Thats my theory when it comes to the throttle body injection anyways.
  9. Im having a problem with my new fuel pump cutting out then coming back on then cutting out again. Could the relay be the culprit?
  10. At the pick and pull yards here any motor from any car is $150. $250 to have them pull it. I need something for less than $500
  11. Ok so my 87 TSI has low cranking compression (90-110 PSI) and has no oil pressure at idle. Plus it makes a horrible knocking sound under load so i am thinking its time for a new motor. Money is tight so im thinking a full rebuild would be out of the budget. Im wondering what motors will work? For instance could I use a motor from an 86 with my turbo and ecu ect.? What about a caravan motor? Or a truck motor? Im doubting that I will find a starquest at the junkyard and Im just trying to see what my options are.

  13. No there shouldnt be any problem other than that your dash gauge wont work.
  14. I have an 87 TSI that I bought recently. I hooked up an oil pressure gauge today because it has been making a nocking sound when warm and it has very low oil pressure so its gonna need a rebuild or new motor. Also the turbo and radiator are shot. Its got a brand new walboro 255 lph fuel pump, hks blow off valve, hks intake, hks boos gauge, *DM 2.5" downpipe. I paid 1200 for the car. So shoot me a reasonable price.

  17. Im looking for a good 12a or any turbo that will fit the stock manifold.
  18. How much? Is it in good shape? Does it bolt straight up to the stock manifold and piping?
  19. Yeah I tried to take the sending unit out but I didnt have enough room to get a wrench down in there. Do you know what size fitting I need?
  20. Im trying to tap into there but I cant seem to get the plug out. Any suggestions? Also what type of fitting do I need?
