I am thinking about these rods aswell, i was wondering what they weigh compared to the stockers. IF you can contact this guy directly, can you get us some specs. I can't find any specs online:(
My Laser (Talon TSi) has a CM Stage 1 and it simply sucks. The advertised rating of 70% more this and that are bull s***. It takes a stage three to hold a BPU DSM. Not trying to rain on your parade...
I'm just saying that the ratings that they have aren't to be trusted.
Please don't make the new gear straight cut! If there is one gear that doesn't need to be straight cut, it's the fifth. My trans whines enough with solid mounts.
My tranny was fine before it was introduced to that crap and after about 5,000miles it's wrecked. Three other guys locally with the same story. About the Z/28, they all come with it!
"BG syncroshift II" Destroyed my DSMs tranny. Back in 2000 i was test driving a new Z/28. The sales guy smiled and asked if i street race. I told him that this car *might* end up in a few street races. He laughed and said that it would hold it's own...but if i were going to be driving it hard that i should drain the "sycrofart" outa her as soon as she was broken in. Everyone i know has or does use Redline. Not once have i heard anything bad about it.
wow! so much info. I'm just a know-nothing kid from the midwest trying to stay outa the big boys way here but i saw something a while back that might help. I was reading all of the is thread and when i got to a longer post about "split duration" cams I remembered a while back in a Ricer Magazine that i had seen a 1000hp Skyline with totally different intake and exaust cam specs. I went and found this mag and looked it up. It's the Hirata Engineering R33 Skyline GTR. It has custom cams with a 291-degree intake and a 308-degree exaust. this is the backwards of everything i've read here so far. I'm not trying to throw a wrench into the gears here but what now?
