This morning on the way to deliver some stuff for my work, something at a used car dealership caught my eye, so I swung in to take a peek

I bugged out before some salesman could catch me so I didn't get an engine shot but its a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS 4dr. 133k. With an STi steering wheel. I'm debating on it ( my Maxima sings it's swan song almost daily now, hearing a slight rod knock upon every start up )

Those are awesome cars and from what i jeard you can do a WRX swap fairly easy..I personally feel that was the best looking impreza ever made...

Yeah I've looked on 25RS forums... half of the ones for sale have STi engines and drivetrains in them.

What year is your Maxima and how did you manage to get rod knock in that car? Don't believe in maintenance?

1997. It used to be a rental car, then belonged to an Iranian who used it to deliver blinds ( the faux trunk floor was so badly torn up from that ). I thought he was the driver, found out later it was his brother who drove it. This being a brother that when I rode with him, we ended up doing 50mph in reverse through a parking lot and him broadsiding 4 cars <_< Also, it has 207k miles. Believe me, I change the oil every 3k miles on the spot, I run a thicker and high mileage oil on it, did a carbon clean out on it and such. Every 2nd oil change is a new air filter. I've already replaced the radiator in it, and the starter. Not to mention the rear suspension ( now the front suspension needs replacing - struts are going out and the upper strut mount squeaks and rattles ), knock sensor, and drivetrain belt. It was $1500 car. Oh, might I add that the Maxima has been hit 3 times. Parked. While I would be inside a mall shopping or something. I've gotten my money out of it, that's for sure. Honestly I'll probably drive the car to its death before I get something else, but I'm doing my research ahead of time.

2.5's are awsome, a friend of mine has one and they are great cars. But the STI engine swap is not easy by any means. The entire wire harness needs to be changed amongst other things. Do-able for sure but not as easy as say a SR swap in a 240.

hypothetically speaking if I were to get it, I wouldn't be doing any sort of swap. Maybe a catback exhaust if that. More asthetics than anything like the fogs, an RB25 wing or something.
