60mm TB on stock Inj!!! Free Cheap Mods Are BACK!!

Recommended Posts

Well we did it, Found yet another way too free cheap mod the quest engine. Got the Mustang TB installed onto the stock Intake and fuel system on the Monturbo :) The first test shows, get this, smoother idle!!!. It seams to rev good, but it has slight studder with sharp throtal, posibly fuel geting before the air does (inj after tb), posibly the ecu isnt fast enof too respon, or could be just its geting more air then it knows what too do with it :) Upgraded from 2 1/4in crush bent too 2.5in now, and it clears the hood even. A quest wouldnt clear tho :) here is some pics!!

Update: On the test run (ran with waste gate dissconected) it ran very nicely it does stumble slightly with a quick push of throtal, but that is no pig deal, it seams too have more top end, unfortantly had problems on it and couldnt do a long good run, need too fix a few things on the set up. It seams too idle much smother it doesnt pulse at idle like the stock one does, since we are going too run the monty at the track tomarow we put the stock set up back on wont have it ready for the track yet with the new set up, the mustang tps seamed too work, posibly it is too fast of reponse for the old clunky stock ecu :) The New set up is in almost the same spot as stock and it can use the same Pipe so it will be better (in that aspect) then it was, plus i have the intake that is ported heavly out with coolant blocked and egr blocked. From 2 1/4in crush bent pipes too 2 1/2in mendral bent pipes it should work nicly. Also will get a run in with the exhaust dumped :) Hoping for a solid 15. Wish i didnt have a Exhaust leak...

Well after when we get it going on the monty we will work on getting one on a Quest we will know what we are doing by then I hope... and if it all goes good we hope to be making some kits that come with all you need to install it... but that might be some time... down the road we need to have one work before I even bother with getting one in a quest... But we will give it a TRY :)

I need to move to Michigan. You guys are having a lot of fun getting your hands dirty with these cars. I wish I had more time for my baby, but with 3 kids time is very little. I was going to take them to the O'Reily Nations but I got bumped by "Mom" and the Easter bunny. Oh well. I told my wife I was on the hunt for a old Montero. She was like"Why?"

HeHe! :o

Thoes are all the senors i need :) The one wire is the wire from the monty harness too the collant dash gage, and the other one hooked up is the Quest ECU coolant temp. Once i get it going with that i will have too do some testing with Inj Placment (primary and secondary) and stuff and get some gtech comp hp info :)

lol, now that's funny ;D, am I the only one who got this joke ??? or maybe it's true? I think UL is getting a bonner from that pic ;D

hey, matt, luke, know anybody who is looking for montero parts? or they even worth anything? My g/f's 89 frame rusted through, the shock ripped a hudge chunk of the frame off, because it rusted so bad. there's no sense in reparing it.
