The Official SQC Wheel Thread

Recommended Posts

  • 4 weeks later...

Ok this thread rocks but it's making my head hurt. Can someone who is smart on this stuff please tell me what size adapter I need to run to make these wheels work.

FRONT 18X8

REAR 18X9

OFFSET 20MM

Fronts would be good without a spacer I believe, and rears would probably be good with a 20/25mm spacer. My 17x9 +24 fits just barely up front, the strut perch will be your first obstacle though.

Problem is they're 5x120, so I think I have to use an adapter to go from 5x114.3 to 5x120. You think a half inch would work with a 245/40? Or would it hit the fender?

most adaptors like what your gonna need start at 20-25mm, which means your gonna be flush with the outside of the fender, if not a slight poke (depending on camber) up front

If you can find a 15mm adaptor for the front, you'd be good, then I'd go 30mm out back. Only issue you might have is the stock stud clearance to the wheel (yes through the spacer).

a 15mm spacer on the stock wheels require about 10mm to be cut off the stock studs, so you might be able to use the stock wheels' clearance on the back between the stud holes to compare to the new wheels' to gauge how much clearance to the stock studs you will have

Here's a 15mm spacer with stock length studs...

and trimmed 10mm (7mm minimum needed to fit stock wheels)

hope that helps some

Sure does, and I found them in the right bolt pattern and a 40 offset now so I might not have to use a spacer/adapter at all if my math is right. I hadn't considered the stock studs poking through the bolt on adapters. (I've always heard the bolt on version called an adapter and the slip over one called a spacer) Anyway, what would be the perfect offset to bolt onto the front without using a spacer? Looking at a 18x9.5 rear with a 40 offset (3in lip BTW). Front would be a 17 or 18x8 with a 40 offset (1.5in lip).

That really depends on how you want them to sit, and the tires your gonna use. My Durban car, I've got an 18x9.5 with a 265/35 on it, combined offset of -11, tire just rubs a non-rolled fender...

before is -3 combined (25mm spacer) after is the -11 combined (33mm spacer), wheels have a 22mm offset

to be on the safe side for tire fitment, I'd shoot for +10 up front on that 17x8, and 0mm out back. That should give you plenty of wiggle room for tire choice.

what size tires you thinking of? 245/35r18 and 285/30r18 ???

Awww... +40 offset... nooooooo!! Way too high. You will rub the strut most likely with the high 40mm offset on the front without a spacer.

The less spacer you have to use, the better.

I'd say use the 18x9's +20 offset all around with a 245/35 tire (+0.43% speedo error). Maybe a 5mm spacer on the front, Rear spacer 40mm. This will be a slightly aggressive ("flusher" to the fenders) fitment aka "perfect" offset.

The ideal offsets you'd want on 9" wheels are, front +20 to -0 and rear -0 to -20. (Near stock fitment to aggressive fitment, respectively)

Robert, I'd like to see some close up pics of the flare that you rolled into the front fender. Exterior and interior if you please. I have an eastwood too and just rolled the fenders yesterday, but did not add the flare like you have. It looks really good with the flared edge.

Go to jegs.com Look up (percys 01201). It costs 70 bucks but you can take the size tire you want to run and use it to tell you what offset wheel you need. Or in you case what spacer you need. I would also recommend using the ones that JusPaus used. Do it once and be done.

Idrftjunk. I hope you NEVER use those wheels for drifting! Those bad boys scream 80'S!

yeah any pics where you can actually see your car and its not crazy exposed..., would be awesome.

That's what my car looks like in real life... it's got these crazy dark and light contrasting thing going on with it. No wonder people stare hard whenever I roll by.

LOL... I'll get some pics in a while.

ITS A MOST TO POST TIRE BRAND AND SIZE.......AS WELL AS RIM BRAND AND SIZE

Yea certain tires are known to not stretch well at all while other stretch great. My BFG KDWs dont stretch too nice but my Freddy's on the front are one of the best stretching tires. Falken 912s and 512s along with the FK series Falken has are known to be great for stretching. Ive stretched Azenis are they were decent. Not the best but no where near bad. Once I burn up the KDWs Im for sure going with Azenis again.

RED CARS ONLY ON THIS PAGE HAHAHAHA. ALL OTHER COLORS GTFO!

BBS RG-R

Front: 18x8.5 +23 with 7mm spacer

wearing Goodyear Eagle All-season 245/40/18

Rear: 18x9.5 +25 with 25mm spacer

wearing Goodyear Eagle All-season 275/35/18

I'm going to chage the spacers and get the stance right soon. And the flare is a work in progress. Its close to perfect, but needs improvement. I might change the stripe to silver too.
