Highly Boosted
ya i have the us cams and HKS gears. I sold the gt45 cus it was going to be too big for my set up. I want the smallist turbo that will get me in the hp range that im looking for. Yes jeff I will get it done. I just bought some WELD draglites and i need to find some 26-10.50-15 tires for it. the 29's that are on it are way to tall.
fastfive_ogt
Thats funny craig. I will run the golden schloger mobile anytime you want. I picked up a laser rs turbo fwd. Sorry man beretta is gone and that blue mustang I had would have stomped your little red quest too. HAHAHAHAHA. Just jokein with ya man. But back on topic matt says his turbo is basically the same as a gt35 garrett which is close to the same turbo minus ball bearing that AMS runs on there 8 second evo. If I am right I believe that car puts down 1013awhp. Oh I am right heres the link http://www.amsperformance.com/amsdragevo.php They use a gt42r which is just a bit bigger but on a less capable engine. scratch that alot bigger. oh well you guys are right his car will only be able to make 600 to 800hp. Darn what is he going to do with that heap. LOL. He is makeing 0hp right now so he needs to get his butt in gear and get er goin. I'm going to pick up my talon shell for parts tomarrow afternoon. I'm so excited.....LOL. So how are things going over at the independant shop craig? Picking up a bit at the dealer but still sucks. Laters people and good luck on the car bro.................................
Highly Boosted
Well the swap seens to be going pretty good. Things that worked out great I used the stock jdm ?arciso? what ever it is lower rad hose and it fit great i just needed to add 3inches to make it reach the rad I was able to recut the upper rad hose to make it work for the upper I used my stock heater hoses to make one of the heater core hoses but the other one was custom You can use your stock speedo cable cus it has the same end as the R-154 supra trans The shifter comes out in the perfect location You can modify the stock throttle cable to work with the supra TB You can still retain the stock rad if you move it under the core support With slight mods you can make the drive shaft work and just shorten it and have it reblanced If you run the same header turbo set up as me the exhaust down pipe just needs some minor cutting and welding to fit
Quest4life
I heard a car going through gears on my brand new expensive road that I have to pay for because this dumb a$$ city can't budget itself. I thought perhaps it was yours. It wasn't. It could be though. Any ideas on when you will be pissing my neighbors off? We're all waiting. This time can I get a ride before you and Craig blow it up? Just kidding This one should last you awhile, or at least until you try to squeeze 1500 hp out of that poor thing. I can't wait until you get it done. It will look as sweet as it will run. I know how fast Jeff's car is and this should be all of that! They are about the same weight. I bet if you get those slicks good and hot you can pull the front end up a little. (not sure why but that sounded kind of kinky). Well any way I have time so if I can help just let me know. If you are working this weekend I can bring the refreshment and we can do some video taping. Someone told me there is a better sensor out there then the Bosch for the wideband. do you know anything about that? I need a new one I think. It is obvious this is my year for electrical issues. Highly Boosted
heres some pics of where the shifter is located. im useing a 101pourpse shifter and i think it comes out great. http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/5396/0000639bf5.th.jpg http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/4777/0000638bk3.th.jpg http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/9651/0000636fx1.th.jpg things are coming along pretty good. On sat I mounted the coolant overflow, power steering cooler, made the front hood latch souport, mounted the ps res and got some of the lines made. I also filled her up with coolant and oil. After haveing some issuses primeing the oil system we finnaly got it to build presure. 40psi with just turning the engine over with the key without the plugs in. IF CRAIG87 ever comes over to do the wireing it should run. The nos jets, bov and ps hose and fittings will be here this week. So this beast should run buy the weekend. If so I will just weld the drive shaft my self so we can take it out for a spin. Its gett so so close Edited April 22, 2008 by Highly Boosted

Highly Boosted
well thing seem to have slowed down a little. :character0292: The TPS was junk and costly too just shy of $100. the drive shaft is still not done. I ended up buying a new supra driveshaft with spicer 1310 joints. So that I dont need to worry about snaping it on the 6k lunch on spray with the slicks. Now I need to have it shortened and reblanced. i also need to get it adapted to the stock diff flange. The driveshaft is going to cost 480-680 depending on if I need to buy a pinion adapter or not. The engine should still fire up this week but it wount be driven for at least 1 to 2 weeks due to the lack of a drive shaft. This swap is taking a lot more $$ than I thought. I sure hope its worth it.

Highly Boosted
well all the wireing in the engine compartment is done. We tryed to start it but no luck go figure. We believe that the MSD dis-4 box is junk. I bought it off e-bay and i think I got raped on that one. So I am going to buy 2 3 channel haltech ignitors and wire them up and it should run. The Ps line turned out good. there is one restricker in the pressure line and 2 in the return line. I wanted to use them to help keep the flow closer to the factor pump. I put the pressure restricker in between the -6 hose end and the -6 to 5/16 tube adapter. I ended up putting the metric fitting on the std line but it still should seal. cut the flare off the old return line to shorten it up and reflare it. then connect the ps cooler to the rubber hose and the other end of the cooler goes to the res. heres the parts that i go to make the ps pressure line. I got them all from summit Part # Item Box Status Price Qty Price EAR-165056ERL ALUM TUBE ADPT -6 MALE AN TO 5/16 $9.25 RUS-620401 ENDURA HOSE END #6 STRAIGHT $12.95 RUS-620411 ENDURA HOSE END #6 -45 DEG $15.95 RUS-632600 POWERFLEX HOSE #6-3' $18.88 RUS-670530 METRIC ADAPT #6X16MM 1.5 $4.95 10in 5/16 brake line to connect the -6 hose to the gear box im still in the prosses of doing the drive shaft so I'll update you on that at a later time. heres the link to more PICS[/color]. if this does not work just pm me and I'll fix it im working on the link double click for full size pichttp://img170.imageshack.us/img170/2227/0000640yz1.th.jpg http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/8599/0000646ku4.th.jpg http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/1562/0000647dt1.th.jpg http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/3629/0000654dx0.th.jpg http://img170.imageshack.us/img170/94/0000643wo5.th.jpg Edited May 7, 2008 by Highly Boosted
Technology
That turbo looks way too small in your supra.
JustPaus_88TSi
Yeah, 800+cfm is mad small.. It is however one of the fastest spooling turbo's on a 2JZ, comparable with DBB GT35's and such..

JustPaus_88TSi
I can't wait to see this thing on the streets.. The coolest thing is pulling up to a Z06 on the freeway and stomping the crap out of him.. Or reeling in EVO's/STI's and blowing by them while still trying to get traction.. LOL Well, Z06 for you, but a couple C5's in my case. Have you thought about your rims/tires yet?

craig87
22"? there isn't a thing about this car that wasn't thought through and done the best way possible. I'm sure that you would have put a larger turbo on it but but wait you haven't done it yet. This will be the first 2jz swap in questy matt has provided more then enough picture that anyone with fab experiance could do this yet no one has. So please keep the disrespect down a little. I personaly cant wait to feel this thing go down the road and I was part of the hold up on getting it done. It will be done. anyway the cobra r's look sweet on the car. JustPaus_88TSi
I thought he had those 17's already, but wasn't sure of the width or tire sizes.. I wouldn't want anything less than 275's in a sticky-ish street compound.. 315's would be ideal though.
Highly Boosted
I have 17x9 and 17x10.5 with 255/s and 275/40 BFG g-sports on the rear I think??? I also have a set of nitto drag radials on stock rims and for the track I have some WELD drag lites with 26x10x15 M/T drag slicks. The M/T's should hook pretty good. the 275BFG's did pretty good at 440-460WHP But I dont think there going to beable to hold 600WHP. But the fun part is being able to let them smoke all the way down the road through 5th gear lol She's going to be lots of fun. I'll get some video of it running monday or tuesday provided CRAIG87 has time to wire up the haltech ignitors
