Finally got it back and it fits well. Did have to do a minor modification. I did not test the cooling difference. That should be a 'No Brainer'.

Pic#1 The testbed.

Pic#2 The stock set up to compare clearances. You will need to remove the I/C piping near the radiator for this install.

Pic#3 Dont need that lower support bracket.

Pic#4 Notice the gap between the fan & core. Thin foam weatherstripping needed here.

Pic#5 Same gap here as well. Temp sensors fit better though.

Pic#6 Here's the Mod. The two bolt heads for the wire harness cover might rub the core. They dug into the cardboard that was covering the core long before I bolted it to the radiator support. Yes, I could've just bent them back out the way, but that's not how I do things.

Pic#8 The solution is an undersized carriage bolt with nylock nut. Undersized meaning it will pass through the hole & threaded bung. Take your pick of smaller size.

Pic#9 The solution in place. Notice the added clearance.

Pic#10 Notice the top tank is warped. Good thing aluminum gives.

Pic#11 Finally Installed! It was tricky getting it to slide down in there with the fans already mounted. Just wanted to see if it could be done especially with the A/C components still there.

Pic#12 Another installed angle.

Pic#13 I/C piping installed. Great fit.

Pic#16 Not quite as tight and still not touching

Pic#18 Griffin radiator cap height as measured from the radiator support. Looks like it's about a quater inch taller. It did not hit when closing the hood.

Extra Pics These show clearance from the fans to the engine components. The fans do not touch anything.

cool thanks for the update. Does this mean we will have ours soon? I hope so my car is almost done

I called to purchase this radiator May 2005. I did not receive it until the end of July. Here it is about 8 months later and now I could use it if I had any of my cars near completion.

Griffin was NOT waiting on me to test fit this radiator B4 production would begin. They were using the radiator support, fans, and radiators that I brought to them for fitting/measurments. I was just getting my new one 'repaired'. I never could get a straight answer out of the salesman Scotty that quit about production lead times. Now I know why. Thank you JohnboyB for getting that information.

Wow it looks great man! You're saying Griffin wasn't waiting for you to test fit it... but they are going to be producing them with all the corrected specs that yours has on it correct?

Basically we still don't know when these will be shipped, do we?

This GP was for a drop-in replacement radiator... that's exactly what I paid for, not a radiator I have to modify to make it fit my car. :?

You guys are hopeless and I refuse to waste any more energy trying to convince you that you will get what you are wanting & that it will be worth the wait. It's not even my product. I was just trying to help us ALL .

You DO have the right to complain about the lead time but this is not the forum for that. JohnboyB posted Griffin's phone number. Let THEM hear how you feel.

I talked to Otis who talked to Griffin as well, the modifications added some time but it is worth the wait. as the one who started this and then had to turn it over to otis for personal reasons I will apologize as this was out of all our controls. they're quality is great and the ones i have seen were drop in.

my new act clutch was drop in until i wanted to disengage it! lets face it almost everything on our cars is custom to some extent.
