B_c87tsi
I'm running a bov and boost gauge, will it make a huge difference
importwarrior
as far as boost gauge and or BOV they are T'd in to the same spots on a stock setup as they are shown here. This is what i did for my Vac Line Delete. My car didnt have AC and it was all removed. Also my car didnt have a charcoal canister underthe air can on passenger side. it was vented in the back near the gas tank. There is no BOV so this is absolutly the basic Vac line setup. I was hoping to ADD this to the topic in the Tech section.http://www.starquest...showtopic=28042 The Blue Hose goes to my Boost Gauge on dash. The Center is just blocked off. the Black Hose goes to the Distributor Vac Advance. Below the 3 in a row is the vac line that goes to the Foot FaceActuator for your heater controls also shown in the last pic it is #4.if you have a BOV and or boost gauge just T off of the Blue vac line shown in the 1st and 2nd Pic. Thats It. http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/I-W/Quest_Parts_and_Info/IMG_1436.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/I-W/Quest_Parts_and_Info/IMG_1437.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/I-W/Quest_Parts_and_Info/IMG_1438.jpg http://i139.photobucket.com/albums/q299/I-W/Quest_Parts_and_Info/Mani-Vac-Ports.gif
B_c87tsi
I have so many freaking vacuum lines, could this not being right cause my fuel mileage to suck? Also I have a slight throttle stick that I can't figure out, it holds idle at 1300 until I pull pedal out a little, where should I Set my timing
88351wtsi
just bought another 88 and trying to get her running. I think someone has mixed and matched some parts from different years. I have another vacuum port above the #2 in the pic above. where should it go? There is a steel line coming up from the firewall and bending back down. May be in over my head here. The shop that had worked on it had the idle control plugged into each other and the wiring harness plugged into each other too. Had to get the head resurfaced and a valve job and putting it back together now. It also has what I think is an 87 or earlier ovcp because it has a sensor that isn't plugged up either but my other 88's don't have it.
importwarrior
you can clearly see that it is there in the pic above just no nipple for 87 to 89.possibly an 86 Tbody and OVCP?from what it sounds like, you might have an 86 engine or intake.the sensor is possibly an after market map sensor or might be from an 86. 88351wtsi
should the car still run ok? What about the metal line coming up from the firewall? Where does the 4th vacuum nipple go?
importwarrior
in the last pic above?#4 goes to the foot face for the heater controls. down near the AC lineswhere they go through the firewall. Well over near the wiper motor to thecheck valves then eventually down to the AC lines in fire wall.
