Plug in MAS kills my battery instantly...

Recommended Posts

So first off I haven't touched any electrical on my 86 starion. I bought the car because it was in such nicr shape for a MN starion. ( one rust spot the size of a quarter) but when I test drove it I noticed the MAS wasn't plugged in and I asked the guy about it. All he said was it's about the ecu being able to still drive with out it, so I believed him and bought the car, it's been 6 months and this is my first post and I need help!

All the wiring is fine and intact ( besides vacuum lines) I rebuilt the motor, but didn't touch wiring sooooooooo my question would be is the MAS shot??

Ok I've sort of figured out my problem. There was a short in my wiring and I got that fixed but now my car starts but it won't idle with the MAS plugged in. But I have to add that the vacuum lines are just a mess... the previous owner tried "removing" them but he for some reason rerouted them and left some open. I assume this would be causing my idle problem?

So I've finally had the chance to work on her more. I removed the air filter and canister to see what it looked like under it and have pictures of the gruesome carnage under it. For some reason I can't upload it on my phone, but one vac line is only connected. Everything else is clipped, also can I remove the secondary canister?
