Subitsu Posted April 13, 2015 Report Share Posted April 13, 2015 So first off I haven't touched any electrical on my 86 starion. I bought the car because it was in such nicr shape for a MN starion. ( one rust spot the size of a quarter) but when I test drove it I noticed the MAS wasn't plugged in and I asked the guy about it. All he said was it's about the ecu being able to still drive with out it, so I believed him and bought the car, it's been 6 months and this is my first post and I need help! All the wiring is fine and intact ( besides vacuum lines) I rebuilt the motor, but didn't touch wiring sooooooooo my question would be is the MAS shot?? Subitsu Posted June 28, 2015 Author Report Share Posted June 28, 2015 Ok I've sort of figured out my problem. There was a short in my wiring and I got that fixed but now my car starts but it won't idle with the MAS plugged in. But I have to add that the vacuum lines are just a mess... the previous owner tried "removing" them but he for some reason rerouted them and left some open. Subitsu Posted July 17, 2015 Author Report Share Posted July 17, 2015 So I've finally had the chance to work on her more. I removed the air filter and canister to see what it looked like under it and have pictures of the gruesome carnage under it. For some reason I can't upload it on my phone, but one vac line is only connected. Everything else is clipped, also can I remove the secondary canister?
