From what my dad has told me he writes the code and programs towers for 4G and newer networks. He said they can now pinpoint your exact location within a few inches/milimeters. Also he said he could turn your phone on, listen through the microphone, turn the camera on etc all from his laptop. So if thats possible the government servers must be overloaded with everyones porn and downloaded music. Tax dollars at work and Osama bin Laden hasnt attacked anyone since he died so I say its working. Just more proof that these little "smart" phones are smart. Samsung just got caught admitting that their TV's have cameras and mics in them that can listen to you in your living room. Their response was, just don't talk in front of the TV. Verizon cable boxes have the same mics and cams built in. FBI and local cops around this area fly small planes around that spoof cell towers, and siphon off the data they collect from all phones that link to their fake cell signal. NY just installed a ton of those Shot-Spotter mic systems, that can record a conversation on the street anywhere in range. It's 360 degrees now, all around us and full speed ahead, it's a huge growth industry. It's hard to be anonymous but you can still block a lot of the attack vectors. Use a Faraday pouch on your phone, while inside no signal can reach or come from the device. (Cops put your phone in one after they arrest you so you cannot perform a remote-wipe of the phone, they work.)Use a VPN conection service when browsing the internet. A few are free but shady, the good ones usually cost a few bucks a month but your traffic is encrypted from end to end, basically unreadable if intercepted. I use FrootVPN.Of course the #1 attack vector is malware on your computer, so keep it clean and use more than one AntiVirus product to scan it regularly.
