Kind of hate playing online as no one want's to play with real damage and they want to play bumper cars or pit you. Yes the wheel is a must but they are getting hard to find and expensive if you do. Best tips I can give you... don't blow money on upgrades do the work to run the races without them with the car makes you want to upgrade... when you reach level 4 upgrades are free then. Turn most stuff off IE ABS traction control and just learn to do it yourself it's worth the extra exp, and you can make better decisions then the car can. As far as upgrading cars, some cars can become "to upgraded" to drive and are useless.... Going like 1 or 2 classes below what you want to run and upgrading makes the biggest improvements. For online racing put all the class rating you can into go fast and don't worry so much about weight reduction, tires, rims ect until you have maxed on go fast parts.
