bkgsquad Posted August 11, 2011 Report Share Posted August 11, 2011 hey all, can i put an 89 ecu,knock box,dizzy and the fuseable link box next to the battery,on my 87??i don't want to try it without knowing for sure....i know its the same motor and all but im awarethat certain things are different. Indiana Posted August 12, 2011 Report Share Posted August 12, 2011 In the ignitor, there are two sets of wires that are the same color, they CAN NOT be mixed up. They go to different places and have completely different connections they just happen to be the same color. The wires are in the same orientation on both ignitors but the newer one has two wires you don't use. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Shelby Posted August 13, 2011 Report Share Posted August 13, 2011 when installing an 88/89 igniter to an 87 or older theres two wire that run to the boost controler valve on the air filter houseing,, these two wires are not use'd the 2 white wires are the dist pick up signal and the ign trigger wires, so as you can see they can't be mix'd up,,they also need to be given attention as that they are both shield'd wires so do not cut into any of the shielding Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
