how did the car run prior to the knocking? did u ever find out what the knocking is? Is the car still driveable?

Hey all, i'm looking for an mpi setup for my 87. plug n play though..i don't much about it and the difference in parts but i hear its way more reliable than the crap our cars come with i'm not a racer guy anymore,been there done that! i'm just looking to drive my car as much as possible and pretty much go anywhere i want..any info,tips or advice will b greatly appreciated. trying to keep the quest alive but it's getting hard..

i got some in brooklyn ny with ok tires. rims are not perfect but they will do for the winter i guess.

i have one came off my running 89,didnt have any issues with it when i parked the car 8months ago..

is the 89 tps u have the same for an 87?

all lines have been checked and or replaced.i'm running out of patience.i'm sure u guys can understand my frustation

would a bad dizzy cause my idle to be erratic and cause all that popping and poof noise from my exhaust? where can i get another dizzy?

i'm running trilogy injectors,it did the same with the stock ones as well. the timing,i'm not sure where it's at,someone else did it for me so i idk if it's set before or after but he did tell me it's at 10tdc. i did not think that the cts would cause a problem but i will replace that tomorrow cause the one on there looks kinda f'd up. today driving home it really ran like crap!!! i mean really bad like bucking as if i was just learning how to drive manual type of bucking. i had to get off the expwy it was bucking so bad.It was snapping and popping way too much and too loud out the exhaust also..

hey all once again i need ur help with some bucking studdering isuues. i have replaced the following: vac advance plugs and wires cap and rotor msd blaster coil injectors and clips removed 1g mas and bov put back stock setup reset tps/isc timing is 10 tdc when its cold it bucks a bit when i give it gas regardless wht gear i'm in. It is running way better than it use to but it still has an issue and i honestly do not know wht to do next.It is not leaking any fuel from injectors or tb. i have done alot of stuff to the car as far as trying to make it a daily driver but i'm stumped right now. plz help before i give up and get rid of it.

hey i had/have the same issue.i replaced alot of stuff. but today about an hr ago i replaced the injector clips. Let me tell you,wht an unbelievable difference it made on my 87. i also removed my 1g mas setup and bov and hardpipes i had. i put everything back to stock(no bov) and it runs waaaayyyy better. not quite 100% but much better than before.. just my 2 cents.. good luck

ok i reached out to the guy,his name is paul and i have his phone number. he sent me a few more pics of the car.The car was painted very nicely in a spray booth and all pieces that could be removed were painted off the body. He did not send me pics of the motor though.I will call him today to setup a time and date for my people to go see it. If any of u want his number,pm me and i will give it to u.i dont want to post his num without permission. from the pics,the body is straight and in tact,interior is burgandy.

hey all i'm looking for a hardpipe kit for my 87 5spd. either that or an entire mpi set up.i mean the whole thing plug n play turn the key and drive away type of set up. i basicly just want to drive my car and enjoy it before i give up and sell it..

what's the condition of the hose? its not chewed up on the inside or anything like that right? I'm only asking cuz i bought one from somebody and when i finally received it, it was all messed up inside which could've blown my turbo if the chunks of rubber would've broke off.
