BOHO
With this intercooler I didn't need to beat or cut the frame rails...But I did have to cut and hammer on the bumper support. http://img404.imageshack.us/img404/6135/71112938.jpg http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3241/73431844.jpg

pure_insanity
i gotta do it........ did you take all of the bolts out? lol. seriously obviously you did or you wouldnt have gotten it an inch off the block. its an auto right? sounds like your losing the angle and its not coming straight back to slide off the torque converter. vettekiller593
Its the R154 5 speed. Your probably stuck on the pilot bearing it will pull out of the flywheel if you keep pulling.
pure_insanity
Your probably stuck on the pilot bearing it will pull out of the flywheel if you keep pulling. yes. i got a feeling this is the case. lots of times where the input shaft protrudes thru the pilot bearing, it will get a little touch of surface rust or something on the back side and since the bearing is such a precision fit, it wont come back thru there. at least not untill you wiggle the pilot bearing out of the flywheel. good luck. BOHO
Did some work this morning. Swapped out to the External shifter...New trans mount...modded trans bracket...http://img651.imageshack.us/img651/9853/38948605.jpg I found this for a good price. Its a stand alone fan controller...very simple..very cheap. Turns fans on over 170...then back off..has override circuit etc. Basically same price for everything that I've found just 2 12" fans...65$...Just thought I would make things simpler.http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/1910/83735039.jpg Oil Filer relocation kit...I D***** up the f'n bolt...I've to come up with a plan B..My threads came out crooked.http://img17.imageshack.us/img17/2886/36297912.jpg
pure_insanity
so did you get the trans apart from the motor?
vettekiller593
I dont think your going to fit 2 12" fans unless you put them as a pusher on the outside of the radiator. Edited March 3, 2011 by vettekiller593
pure_insanity
they will fit if he puts them staggered. one top left and one bottom right. or vice versa. thats what i run, so i know for sure it will fit.

BOHO
Vette, You are correct..I wasn't thinking before I got it...I'm only going to be able to run one of them...It would fit in a perfect world but...this isn't...Even if I made them pushers the oil cooler and Intercooler are in the way...I should have gotten 10".... I didn't get the trans apart..I gave up for a while at least.... I don't want to talk about it...but...I got this to work Pipe adapter and a Chrysler oil filter stud... http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/4889/65077538.jpg http://img822.imageshack.us/img822/2209/36340249.jpg
vettekiller593
Yea i have been through the fan thing thats why i said something and i could have fit a pusher and i left enough room to but my 2 10's work fine. So i put a 4" intercooler in instead .
BOHO
Yeah, Thanks for the heads up. I'm thinking the 1 12 will be good for a while. I might try and get one on the other side but I doubt it. I tried to set the motor in and my angles were off for the mounts...I'll try somehting else and maybe I can get this thing set in tommorow. pure_insanity
You have that with a 2jz swap? hmmmmm. you got me there. for whatever reason i wasnt thinking about it being a swapped motor. my setup is with a 2.6. ok i will start thinking before i talk from now on. BOHO
I'm honestly thinking of running it over on the passenger side up by the radiator support. There is nothing else that is going to be there and I've got 36" lines... Got plenty of room. Please keep an eye on my vette. I need all the help I can get
star240z
Did you get the r154 off the motor? I had the same problem. The only way I got it off was by removing the inspection cover and removing all the pressure plate bolts.
supturbo
BOHO, Did you get the tranny off yet? Its very simple really- remember its a pull config and not a push set-up. Bolt the thing back up to the block and reach in the the drivers side opening/dust cover and remove the fork by hand. Push the fork forward towards motor and to the passengers side it will come right out and than the tranny will come right off. Hope this helps if you are still having issues -
BOHO
Sup, I will try that. thanks for the advice. Do you have any pics of your setup? My e-mail is brturner@cox.net if you have any. The other thing...What did you do for the alternator? Its a 3 wire and I'm not 100% on it. Thanks for the help again. Braden

BOHO
Ok... I got the tranny off...It was the stupid clutch fork like Sup said...I'm just f'n retarded.... I'm glad I did...this clutch...is....gone...it may have held at stock boost for a while but geez...it doesn't look good. Does anyone know if the 1jz and 2jz had the same flywheel and clutch setup? I know the r154 will work with both but I don't know if its the same clutch....Thanks for the info guys. Braden From everything I gather on other forums..I just need a clutch kit for the 7mgte motor...Sound right? Edited March 6, 2011 by BOHO
supturbo
1j/2j same flywheel -however the clutch kit will need to be 7m(Supra) I have been working on mine way to long and still needs a few fabs like power steering lines and the interior put back together. I didnt have to relocate the oli filter has I had plently of roon over the motor mount. I also need to work out the oil pressure. BOHO if you havent realized the 1jz has no sensor for the oil pressure but most use 7m sensor and tap into the oil housing.
BOHO
One other thing.... Somehow...I ended up with an extra bearing after taking the tail section off of the trans and doing the shifter swap. I checked all 4 of the allen head bolts where the springs and ball detents are..They are all there..Any idea where an extra one came from...lol...s***
