Convette
yeah its going to be retarded trying to take them off the motor. Theres just no room. I think I'll have to hold the motor up and remove the motor mount in order to take them off. It'll work though. I hoping to get this side done tonight. Convette
and then there was 4.... Just need to weld them up completely. Tomorrow I'll do the other side. So far 6hrs into them. http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/johnboy9788/106_0797.jpghttp://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/johnboy9788/106_0796.jpghttp://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/johnboy9788/106_0794.jpghttp://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/johnboy9788/106_0795.jpg I got room to wiggle them around a little bit, its close to everything on this side of the motor. Convette
Resting against the framerail?? -Robert No, the last one wasn't tacked, just kinda sitting there for the pic. I got close to a 1/2 inch from the frame rail. Working 11hrs a day then working on this had really been killing me latley. I didn't get much done tonight, still need to weld the collector on and weld them to the flange.(just mocked up for the pic. Not really sure if I'm going to grind down the welds or not. Almost dont really care. Going to be powercoating anyways... http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/johnboy9788/106_0798.jpghttp://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w239/johnboy9788/106_0800.jpg
Komeuppance
Nice. I think the start up party should be without headers/exhaust... ... but that's just me. -Robert
Elkidmino
Honestly John, after sitting in it the other night I'd just leave the shifter and everything where it's at. It's so comfortable and you barely have to move to grab gears. Putting the e-brake on the angle we talked about should help with leverage and keep it close to the other controls. Finish your headers so I can drop my motor in my boat!! Edited June 25, 2010 by Elkidmino
Convette
yeah the shifter and stuff is def staying where its at. I like how tall it is. I'll be done this weekend.

Convette
haha thats awesome. No the car won't be done, the headers and tunnel will be done. I'm doing my wiring and ecu tune/flashed on friday next week in Pa. It'll be a while tho, hopefully within a month or so. Still have to pull everything out, finish welding on the tunnel, primer paint and clear everything, then put it all back together... I still need a ton of little things before I can make it go. Komeuppance
When I was 17 I had rebuilt the engine in my d50 (g54b FTMFW) and put a pacesetter header on it and didn't bother to run exhaust, MAN that thing was loud. I drove it around for a week... LOL. I was crossing an intersection one time, wasn't even on it, some guy RAN outside his house to end of his driveway to yell at me. "SLOW DOWN!" I wasn't even out of first gear, and I was only going 15mph. -Robert

Convette
total lenght for the longest tube (from flange to where it meets the collector) is around 32" shortest is 20" I really didn't have a lot of room to play with, they kinda ended up where they had to. I gotta say, when I started this project I never welded before in my life, and I'm pretty happy with how far I've come.
