  1. It's been a few weeks and everything is back. Time to reinstall. (I picked up an old TEP rear strut bar over the winter that also got powder, that'll wait to be installed till another day though) Here's a closer up of the powder. New sway bar links and sway bar bushings. I started with the rear. Then I moved on to the front. Looks super good, can't wait to feel how much of an improvement this will make with handling. 30 year old components were toast, this was long overdue. Here's where we sit with just a few more weeks till the weather turns.
  2. It's dead of winter (Feb) here in PA, but I'm already starting to think about car show season. Next up, it's time to clean up the front and rear bars and replace all the worn out links that skipped over during the resto. Got the car up in the air to remove the old stuff. These links are toast. Rear sway bar out. Then I put the front up and repeated the process. I'm gonna get this all dropped off for powder now and hopefully get this on the road for this spring and summer.
  3. Summer 2017 has almost ended, but there's one more thing I want to get done before it goes down for the winter. This car pretty much has an OEM exhaust on it, and while I want it to retain that OEM look, the old exhaust stuff needs to go, so I've been picking up aftermarket stuff here and there as I've found good deals. The top and bottom pcs are from Mookhee, and the DP I picked up from another member. The exhaust needs hangers added to it and I want the rear pipe to taper back into the OEM muffler so it looks original from behind. So, I dropped the car off at a local speed shop to do the work. Not much a farm out, but the job I did. Old exhaust system hanging under there.... So much better brand new. Much happier with this, and to the naked eye, no one knows.
  4. Amazing. Great color combo inside and out as well. Wish I had the garage space for another one. I'd love to own this pc of history.
  5. If nobody hits you up here, trying message Starquest Steve at Starquestparts.net. He might have what you're looking for.
  6. Looks good sitting there. Love me an 83 hood.
  7. I'd love to know how long that highlighted vac diagram has been around the club. That thing is a legend - it's been around forever.
  8. Really cool find. Glad you were able to acquire it after all these years. Like Crash, I'm in PA as well, but more south - down in the Lehigh Valley. There's about 4 -5 of us that hang out a few times a years in LHV. By the looks of it, it shouldn't take much to make that car a show-worthy beauty.
  9. Yep, Texas is right. There's a drain plug on the left hand side near the fill. 3/4 full is a lot of gas. I'd try to drive it around a bit, get it more empty. Then, jack it up, put a 5 gallon bucket under and remove the plug. Have a 2nd bucket close by in case you got more than 5 gallons still in there. Dropping the tank and replacing the pump is pretty straight forward after you get the gas out.
  10. That I couldn't tell you. It's got the equalizer built-in at the bottom, so I'm guessing it doesn't need an external amp. Lots of guys run them though, so hopefully someone will chime in. I don't have one of those units personally, so I'm not sure.
  11. Only a few of the old-heads hang here anymore, but that's about it. It's sad. I'm in StarqeustClub FB group, I try to answer questions there too, but it's not that same. I'm gonna see if I can get the SOS to extract for me.
  12. I agree with the comments on leaving the EGR out. However, if you are really truly trying to go original OEM you want to take a look at the FSM. Specifically, take a look at this diagram and that will help you trace all the vacuum lines and figure out how/where things ran originally.
  13. Some people go with the double DIN stereo out of the 3000GT. Some DSM models also had a double DIN Unit. I'd try doing some searching on eBay. You also might be able to contact Starquest Steve and get a good working original unit as well. I have a single DIN unit in my car that I adapted from an old Diamante so that it still looked like an original "Mitsu" unit. Using a single DIN game me the ability to add some aftermarket gauges to keep an eye on things - but you may not want that if you're trying to keep things close to bone stock.
  14. I don't know the exact head unit model, I don't know if anyone does off the top of their head - but your looking for the unit that has the AUX input port in the lower right hand corner. Should look like this:
