I picked this one up last July. I believe it's a keeper. When i got it home to check it out it had an aftermarket alarm, and a stereo setup consisting of a Pioneer Premier head unit, two amps with a MTX crossover, Kentwood 6x9's in the rear deck, stock speakers in the doors and dash. it was a wiring nightmare running throughout the entire car. A panel consisting of roughly 7 toggle switches under the radio, that didn't work, with wires going everywhere like the 3 cooling fans, the amps, and the MTX crossover under the drivers seat. the power wires for the amps ran from the battery across the firewall into the O2 sensor grommet and across the ecu location  . did i mention it was a wiring nightmare running throughout the entire car   :D . anyway, this weekend i did the fog light mod, K & N filter, removed most of the interior to get all of the alarm/stereo out, cleaned it all up then installed a JVC HD head unit hooked to the the Kentwood rears, then replaced the fronts with some Sony 5 1/2" that sound nice. i also did a manual seat belt conversion and while i was in there i greased the power window guides, what a difference :D . it also got an auto down window switch and a manual fan conversion. future plans are new struts, camber plates, eibach's, a full poly bushing kit with front and rear sway bar bushings/end links, auto shifter bushings, trans filter/flush with modded valve body ( stage 2 ), 3.90's and a general cleaning under the hood. the stock exhaust was on it with clogged cats so it got a cnm 3" DP and new O2, more exhaust options to follow although it's sounds great with the open DP. i have all of the parts except the eibach's so it's just a matter of wrenching time. one day it'll get repainted Y59.

Nice car! That dash mat's gotta be super rare.

Dash mats were still available about a year ago approximately $30 plus shipping. Ordered one for my 87. Check out:

May want to call their 877 number first.

OK, time for an update. It's taking me some time to get things done because I had knee surgery on my RIGHT knee  anyway, Banana now rolling on Tokico blues, Eibach springs, New strut mounts, new slotted rotors, new calipers and pads, new steel brake lines, new master cylinder, Star-Orion ABS delete, Front and Rear ST sway bars with poly bushings, poly end links, and 3.90's.

I still need to install the new U-Joints, cloth 88' interior, and do a full tune up- cap, rotor, wires, plugs and a TPS reset although it's running pretty good :D Front end poly bushings are planned as well with a 4 wheel alignment. I also might add an extension to the exhaust because it's LOUD

As of now future plans will include a worked NJV head using a Tim C. Howling Banshee Roller set up with Schneider Springs, MS set up feeding 85lb Delphi's into a Modded Magna by David ( 87Quest_TSi ) B) I have everything so it's just a matter of doing it :P When it's all said and done paint will be the finishing touch B) I must finish Olive first :D ...too many projects

Interior now year correct 88/9 Cloth and I finished the head/fog light hid's. Heads are hi/lo 5k and the fogs are 3k ( kinda yellowish ) with JP's covers. The led turns are getting swapped to yellow bulbs and Burton's tinted covers going on. I also changed the shifter bushings so no more shifter slop. More to come...
