Show your Ignition Timing Maps

Recommended Posts

There is a post at the top of the MPI section with this stuff in it. Also someone elses setup is not going to run your car perfect even if they are the exact same and dyno tuned. youll need something for your car.

Actualy very little people have posted their maps (yes I have looked and found maybe 3) We need a resource for alot of different ideas for what works well for the g54b MPI, With enof we can maybe find what works best and what doesnt work. Looking for a trend is moring then just getting a setting then saying ok done. Stock TBI ignition map isnt necessarily the best for the mpi, with mpi have ablity to have map go anyway want. If you have done enof tuning you will know its more of an art then science to get it perfect.

I don't know jack about tuning, but would guess the quote above is the reason people don't post them here and why a tuner would say it isn't cookie cutter and should be done individually on a car by car basis.

The Idea is to create a resource for information. Doesn't mean your car will be same as this or that car. But if we notice a tread like every car with XX style of tuning is making more power down low or up top it can help find the best for each car individual.

Frankly I am shocked for the negative feedback on a idea to help the overall group of StarQuesters.

This is not how I feel, but I believe that many people with fully tuned quests don't want to just give away their tune information because they either payed for it or worked many hours getting it right and they feel that others shouldn't be able to have it for nothing. It's sad, but it's true. I know that when I get my car running, I'll be sure to post my tune up for all to see. There are many benefits to that as some more experienced members may spot issues.

There aren't many ign maps posted. It would be nice to have more out there. Like you said maybe xx maps makes more down low and xx makes more on the high. I can post my old maps if you want. They aren't dyno tuned and are very modest on timing. I had a more aggressive tune but it wouldn't spool. I redid it and it was a HUGE difference. After this I never spent time dialing it it.

I would like to see more maps for the good of the community.

Not trying to clutter the thread or be a post hog...but. 19cturbo, what cam are you running? Also where are you hitting 15psi and 20psi by? I am curious because our setups are close, but I'm running a little smaller hotside turbo.

I had a map with more advance in the low boost like you and wasn't spooling to quick. Last I drove the car I was spooling 15psi by 2800-2900 rpms and 20-21psi by 3200 rpms.

How much KPa is one psi? trying to make since of your maps. I look online and it says 10 is one psi does that mean for vac the MS always uses the same?

10 kPa is 1.45 psi or 1psi is 6.9kPa also 1 bar is 100kPa

I just round off to 1psi = 7kPa for tuning purposes.

MS always references kPa. Atmospheric pressure is 101.325kPa at sea level. Anything above that will be less.

For instance my barometric pressure at home today was 97kPa
