this is the remote shifter, the first thing I did was replace the shifer loop extension with an R 154 internal set up
Posted Image  Posted Image
then I located and mounted the second peice from the R 154 shifter and located the shift rail
Posted Image Posted Image
then I started building the body of the remote shifter
Posted Image Posted Image
I could have done this a lot of different ways but it had to be very universal because it will fit a variaty of aplications and it had to work just as well as  a 5 inch extension to a 2 foot extension
Posted Image
I will probably spend just as much time building the tooling to machine this part

bill, you work is amazing! I really wish youd release those mounts for the g54b.

As for the shifter relocation, why not just slice and relocate half the housing rearward and extend the shift lever? Thats how mine is. Its holding up, and I sure as hell dont baby shift.

the Subaru guys are replacing the RX 7 engines with sub turbo units and using my bellhousings for tthe W series Toyota trans for RWD set ups and the shifter needs to set back 12 inches, so I need a longer extension then just a longer loop, so I am building this 'box' so I can use either a solid shaft or cables if needed
anyway, its a nice remote shifter for a veriaty applications

How much would it cost Bill?

Can I see the mounting position a little better too? Mine would be a little different per the JZ. Just want to see if I could still make it work.

this one peice would at least put you in good position to build the rear mount,
Posted Image

but I put a lot of extra length in the rear lower mount so the trans can move an inch back and forth and still bolt up

Correct me if I am wrong, Bill, you are using standard off the shelf from every parts store gm trans mounts, right?
I like the way you do things.

I had to build a universal remote shifter that would fit both the W series and R series transmissions, so I used as many existing parts as I coould to hold the cost down
Posted Image  Posted Image
the rotation of the second shaft will be produced from the rotation of the shifter handle while the forward and back motion will be from the handle itself, the reason for that was because I had to have two seperate motion ratio's from the two seperate movements
Posted Image   Posted Image
the sideways motion through the 'gate' of the shifter can be adjusted by the hiegth of the two pivot points while the length of the 'throw' can be adjusted by the length of the shift arm
  Posted Image Posted Image
here you can see how the rotation to the right and then to the left works through  the pivot pionts
