The passing control relay has nothing to do with the transmission. Check that the wiring harness is hooked up on top of the bell housing next to the rear of the block as well. Remember that the OD operation is controlled by temp. If engine is cold it should not go into OD. The switch on the shifter only allows you to turn off and to engage if the temp requirement is meet. Check in forum and FAQ,s.

Sorry I didn't back with you guys yesterday, other projects at the house. I sent a primary first that was leaking, cost about 4 $ to ship and 40 something for the service. They shipped it back, quick turnaround. Not sure what all they do to them, but it works and installed in the car. Then I sent my original pri/sec for the same service. They called and explained that the internal problem they could not repair/fabricate. Returned to me and refunded payment. Then I sent 2 secondary that Dave gave me. Same thing with them. So now I am out a secondary. If you would Mark, send me payment info for the ones you have. Hit me on this site or owenbyj@outlook.com I'm going to check one more source. Thanks guys!

The first primary I sent went well. They have you send to GB Manufacturing in Calf. The others I sent could not be saved. They called to explain. So no complaints.

My injectors leak. Did the TBI kit several times and sent thru Rock Auto for Reman/Return, no luck. David(87quest-TSI) had several to donate, no luck there either. Any recommendations? Has anyone used the ones from fuelinjectorclinic? 89, stock other that no Balance shafts, jet valves, and egr/exhaust emissions. Thanks!

On my 89 auto it was mounted to the transmission stud on top of the mount. In the last pic that would be under the nut just below speedo cable as pictured.

L4N71B Rebuild Walkthrough (well...Greatest Hits)

Great job! I knew you could do it. Looks great also, I now have a parts washer for a better cleaning job. Wish I had thought to build a box cradle like you did, I just flipped it over. Congrats!! -
The shaft is very hard to turn once every thing is bolted up. The FSM has a drawing that shows location of the washer bearings. I'll try to remember to look when I get home from work. Edit: IN the 1988 manual look at page 21-83 and item #3 on page 21-91 for that bearing washer. Different page numbers in the 1989 manual. Good luck!
