I've got a fever, and the only way to fix it is more starquest

Hey all,

I just realized I've been poking and proding, but havent even said hello. I used to be all about my old starion like LIVED to work on it... I was working my way through college and spending every last dime on the car, <it went on like this for years; one day moved out and my have-to-have-it habbit fell to the way side for bills, going out, and more bills it seems....

My last adventure was my engine build, which was mostly top-end stuff, OS valves, HD springs, ported marnal, I also moved to a s16g, worked great and it was mostly a weekend car until i moved into an apartment complex, small here and theres had it parked and my days off were spent fixing it... eventually i parked it on my gf's parents property and there it sat for years....

Enter today, one random day on CL i found a really great 88 SHP with no engine but was totally complete otherwise asking $1500... my GF (now my fiance) encouraged me to call and ask about it and maybe talk him down... the lowest i could get was $800 i wasn't willing to spend that, but her knowing my love for these cars actually offered to split it with me (This is why she's my fiance ) so for $400 I was back in the game... Step 1 get my car back and put in my built motor/turbo, Step 2 drop it like its hot, step 3 put on ALL THE PARTS over the years

long story short after troubleshooting my old motor in the new chassis it would appear there was a fungus growing in the TB which wouldn't allow it to turn over, it cost me a starter and cylinder 2's rod bearing.... we've got a baby on the way and i've got the starquest bug.... this car will be up before brith!! I'm older now and getting all the things i've always wanted when i couldn't afford them, and i have the forum to thank

Recent purchases include:

'83 hood (Thanks to Burton)

D2 Coilovers (Thanks to Joseph @ JMautoracing)

Spare SHP x9's for my Hoosier slicks (thanks to GLHS)

Spearco Intercooler (Thanks to JohnnyWadd's post to ebay alerts)

:P I got some other killer stuff recently including good leather fronts i've been chasing for years, but these are the big ones that I can Thank this community for.... I've dubbed the build ' project: cherrybomb '

So:

Hello! and THANK YOU STARQUESTCLUB COMMUNITY!!!

Welcome to the site!!

Excellent thread title lol. Seems we've been getting a lot of TX members lately, don't mess with Texas. My daughter has been riding in a Starion since she was 6 months old, she loves the sound of the exhaust and turbo spooling... soothes her to sleep.

Congrats on the baby!! Oh and congrats on the baby on the way too... lol.

HAHA, Thanks alot guys!,

lol Yeah, i'm looking forward to lulling the baby with some exhaust notes. In my mind I'm looking to have this one be his when he's old enough... maybe even build another one with him when he's old enough :D

@ Komeuppance:

are your rims powder-coated or painted?? I really dig the gold

thanks all!

Tune it with a wideband, if your worried about the stock mas not handling the air flow use a 1g eclipse turbo mas.

He's still on here. Brian Arnone from Lower Shores Performance. Nothing wrong with a well built tbi car. ;)

excellent,

Thanks all for the input, this week i'm planning on a mild port & polish for the intake runners and hunt down a fat throttle body (Thick too bruh!)

i'll post some pics maybe if i'm happy with the work

thanks again for the warm welcome :)

Haha, just a wideband doesn't do anything to tune/modify the fuel output of the ECU, it's a tool used to see how the engine is running... to adjust the fuel needed you will need a standalone computer or piggyback setup for a larger throttlebody.
